Vishwanathan Anand is truly one of the best sportsman India has ever produced.
He has gone on to win virtually everything in the game world-wide.

He started playing chess at the young age of 6.
Achievements
-National sub junior champion in 1983 at the age of 12.
-World Junior title four years later in 1987 and was awarded the grandmaster title and went on to become the youngest grandmaster In India however this record has been beaten by another chess prodigy P.Harikrishan
-He has also won the Linares Super Torneo in 1998 which was the strongest tournament at that point
-He has won the Arjuna Award, the Padmashri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and many more
-He is the current world champion
-He is places 2nd in the chess ration list after Gary Kasparov.
He got married few years back with Aruna and he now lives in Collado Mediano in Spain.
His assets is his lightning speed of play.He is definately one of the best players in lightening chess in the world.
