Well Stomach desires are always what Man tends to satisfy the most. Food and water are the main desires of our Stomach. How much we satisfy these depends on varied taste and choices, again an individual concern. With ten of thousands of restaurants small and big, that mushroom around every nook and corner of our city, it is at times difficult to make a choice.

There is Chinese, Thai, Labonese, Japanese, Italian and afcoure above all Indian restaurants (including Maharashtrain, South Indian, Gujarati, Andhra food, Coastal foods, North Indian, Manglorean foods etc) which offer one a variety of choice of foods. Recently I came across one such restaurant in the far off suburbs of mumbai (Boisar- near Kanidivali). "THE VILLAGE" Located in Raguleela mall. A total vegetarian restaurant. And sure a real delight for all ages alike. At the entrance of the restaurant you will find a bangle lady with her sprawling set of attractive attire, a typical rajasthani set up.

The muneem (the cashier) who sits at the entrance, where the per head charges have to be paid in advance, before entering the restaurant which is aprox Rs250/- per head on weekends and Rs225/- on weekdays. And after that there is a person who will put a red welcome tilak for the gentlemen and a round rubber stamp kind of symbol on the ladies hand, as a mark that the bill has been paid. Once you enter in is a complete village set up with unlimited food counters ranging from the simple Pani puri to the huge spread at the desert counter. The seating is free charpai type, and if vacant can be occupied by another person.

There are chaiwaals on cycle, there is a Gola counter, chaas and juice counter, to top is there is someone who will serve you fresh sugarcane juice too.All the waiters are in typical rajasthani attire. The food counter are a mixture of Gujrati and North Indian dishes from dhokla to samosa, from dhai kadi to chola puri, you name it and its there, and to relish all this one need to get to the place real early so to keep some gap in say least tasting of many of the items. All the rotis including naan, jowar bajra, khakari etc.

There is also a chopal kind of set up, under a Banyan tree (man-made) where the locals beat drums and there are people who dance their blues away...........It is a site worth a watch.....Yes with the entire family, and kids above all who get a mini feeling of sitting in trucks and open auto rickshaws. Worth a evening out, so pack up you foodies and hurry there, as winter (whatever little we have in mumbai) is approaching and at such times one feels best to satisfy STOMACH DESIRES................ This "THE VILLAGE" awaits you and your STOMACH DESIRES
