They say the Heart of a Culture is its Food. The food at the Village is a festival of Mangalorean Culture. The place is located at Yeyyadi, which is a Km or so drive from the City Highway. Go there for the Seafood during the Fish Season.
Queen Kong sized Lady fish(KANE) With Yummy Crisp Masala fry on it. Hot and Spicy!
Pomfrets, Dinner Plate sized, Crunchy fried outside and butter inside, Try any Preparation of theirs, I would suggest Masala Fry. The Crabs were kept at the entrance, and I was tempted to try that, The Sweet crab meat, so flaky, cooked well, in Sukka Masala. Squid circles also tried in Sukka Masala. AWESOME!
And the Prawn Masala Fry, Fresh flavour of Masala bursting in the mouth with the crunchy prawn was a Wonder in my mouth.
Chicken Biryani was good as well, but I had filled up on fish. Portions were good, I would love if it were more.
Ambience is great, It does get noisy if children are playing around. It is a bit difficult to find a seat, but worth the wait. Go during the Fish season.
Worth it.
