It was in a pathetic condition in the beginnning of 2015 when I first visited there. As it was a small and insignificant airport in old Andhra Pradesh state.
But now after it turned out to be the airport catering the new capital region of Andhra Pradesh a lot of improvement was made and being made to make it into a larger and sophisticated one. There is even a proposal to make it into International airport.
So it is not anymore the small and ugly airport as it used to be before.
The new airport building is almost ready and is very good. Also there is a clear improvement in terms of all types of facilities. The flight connections to various domestic regions have increased over the last year and is also scheduled to increase even more.
It is great to see this airport evolve and get better as it is the closest one to my hometown.
