I had a bad time travelling with my two smartphones (SE P990 and SE X1). First I forgot my charger for the P990. Then, when I actually found a charger, the P990 started discharging in half a day. My X1 also was finding it hard to last a day, but it must be mentioned that I was surfing a lot, since I was travelling. That is when I decided I had to go for a dual SIM phone.
Karbonn and Micromax were really rubber looking and hence looked cheap. Then I reached a Planet M outlet where these phones were retailing for a crazy price of 2.3K. That's when I decided that I had to buy the phone.
The first thing I did, was combine the phone book on both my smartphones into the X1 with one copy on the P990 , and save the important numbers on both on the SIM card.I set the Videocon to save all message to SIM, hence I can read them even when I get the SIM back to the X1.
A great bonus, is that this phone can even read the 4GB memory card from my X1, and has a great speaker.
The screen is really pretty, and till date the phone works great. The eZ mode which is supposed to be a T9 replacement works great, so I don't really miss my X1 or P990 keyboards for short messages. I love the way that it can read either SIM card memory and dial from either number. The phone charges quick and easily goes for 2 days, 3 days even(with both SIMs).
The biggest quirk in this phone? Well that would be the fact that the USB looking charging point is not really a miniUSB charging point, only looks like one, so beware. So now, I just charge one phone a day, and never actually carry a charger. My P990 has now almost gone into perpetual hibernation, and sleeps in my bag :P
I might even carry just one charger when travelling!
Update: I forgot to mention that it has a two year warranty.
