One fine morning we decided to go to GOA,
following are the primary consideration we had. We decided to go on beginning
of October as the season starts from November and there will be huge crowed
till March. We cautiously avoided holiday weeks as there will be a big rush. If
you go on season there will be more fun and people, we prefer to have a
peaceful and nice holiday so we decided to book on a weekend which does not
have holidays and also no peak season(its good to avoid off season as it will
rain in GOA)
Being a vegetarian I was told that food will be a major
problem in GOA as it’s a paradise for non-
veggies.
For accommodation I reviewed the users feedback in different
forums and I felt Sun village and Victor exotica are good value for money based
on the reviews.
We booked our accommodation in Victor exotica(3 start
hotel), for following reasons:
It’s
very close to the city center(as I was traveling with my baby I felt it’s
a must be close to the city center for emergencies)Its is
closed beach and we can walk down to beach in 5 minThey
are less expensive and good value for money.
We had a little hectic journey reaching goa, as we went in Bus
from Bangalore.
I would suggest people to take train or flight and not to take bus as the roads
are not good.
We check in Victor exotica
Review about Victor exotica:
I am very much impressed about every thing in victor
exotica, the food was amazing and they have lot of verities for vegetarians.
The room and specious and clean the swimming pool is clean and neat, the people
are very good.
More over the place is well connected by Bus, we had bus for
every 5 min and we can reach calangut in 10 min time.
They had given two ½ day sigh seeing trip to us which
includes 1 boat cruise(ticket etc include in the package)
As per the schedule we need 8 people for the sight seeing
and only 4 of us went to the sight seeing trip, the organizer was nice and he
took 4 of us in a big comfortable van.
Disadvantage:
There is only 1 disadvantage in this hotle, they have hot
water in the room only form 6 to 8 in the morning and in the evening, otherwise
you have to order hotwater. I use to sleep well till 8.30 AM and felt very hard
to take bath in cold water or wait for hot water.
Few tips for travelers:
There
is no dress code in GOA, better take
Bermudas than pants as its will be very comfortable to get into the seaBetter
to use thin t-shirts as it will be hot in goa and you sweat a lot (specially for bangalorians)Most
of the sight seeing trips will have way too many beaches, rather going to
all the beaches select few of them and spend more them there.Pick a
hotel which is well connected by bus, taxi is goa is very expensive they
charge Rs 300 for 10KMYou
can hire a two wheeler for Rs 200 per day+ petrol, in my opinion roads in
goa are confusing and they are too congested it is better to avoid
driving.
