Hi,
I would like to elaborate on my first experience with vibes which happened last saturday. To summarize, they brainwash you into signing up for the worst parlor experience. Totally unhygeinic!
Services Done:
Waxing for legs and arms
What I signed up for, and the money spent!
799 for their package of 5 services
3310 for 5 sessions of skin lightening facials and 5 free deep conditioning hair treatments along with it
The Sad details
I entered the saloon and said that I wanted to wax my hands and legs. I also asked for a service menu to know how much it'd cost. They asked me to wait. And then a lady appears and asks me to follow her to her counseling room. She asked me to explain my skin care routine. I told her that I cleanse and moisturize everyday. The next thing I saw was a ghastly expression on her face, and she tells me that my skin care routine is really bad. I dont have pimples or any problems on my face. I'm 27 and naturally wheatish. She tells me " see at 27 your skin is so bad. You are really tanned. I cant imagine what it would look like when you get older". The immediate thought that flashes thorugh anyone's mind would be " Gosh, is my skin so bad? I really need to do something about it"
The more I think about it, the more I realize that I should have acted the way I normally do, just walk out for insulting me! But I donno why I just kept quiet then!
She started explaining some packages that cost around 10000/- saying that she'd give them for 8k. Oh my word, I was speechless. But still had to act elite. I politely declined. And then she comes with a 799 package offering 5 services of which waxing was 1 of em. I agreed to it and said that we could start. Then she takes my debit card, goes out of the room and I follow her. But she says that her manager wants to see me. Again I go back to her counseling room. This lady starts explaining a package of 5k which could be given off at 3310 if I had a voucher. I happily told her that I dint have a voucher. Now's the funny part.she tells me that she could give me the offer even without the voucher. I saw the greed in her eyes.
But she gave an offer that sounded too good to decline. for 3310/- I'd get 5 sessions of skin lightening facials and 5 free deep conditioning hair treatments along with it. So I said fine. And they ended up billing me for the 699+ 3310+ taxes.
They direct me to the waxing room. Oh my.the room was filthy! I've been to cheap parlors, but never have I seen a place so dirty and dingy. they offered me a dress to wear which was sticky and smelly. I asked the lady to change the dress. But she dint want to. She just kept saying that its washed. I insisted. And then she gave me another one, which was just slightly better than the 1st one.
Now's when the grueling routine started. She waxed one hand, which wasnt a good job. I had to keep showing her places she'd missed. She does it reluctantly. And then goes out of the room. Another girl came in after a couple of minutes and started asking me all sorts of questions, about whther I had an appointment, what other services I was taking.Then she stared at me for sometime.an acts as if she's doing some mind calculations( as if she wanted to look intelligent. Or prolly she wanted to show me that she's some manager there) Then the waxer comes back. She does the other hand and starts doing a leg. She does it half way.and then the smartie lady comes in and calls my waxer saying that someone with an appoinment is waiting in the other room to get her face pack. the waxer asks me if she could go. I tell her that Ive waited enough. And not to get late. She said 5 mins and walks off. My hubby kept calling me as we were in a hurry. But how could I explain my foolishness to him. My waxer come back, does the other leg too and somehow manages to finish her task. During the entire procedure, she hasnt tapped the waxed area even once.(As normally during waxing, the waxer had to tap the waxed area immediately to prevent irritation.) Then she took a wet towel which was hanging on the sink and rubs my body with it. She did not even massage the area with cream or astringent.
The after effects
I waxed on Saturday. On Saturday night I had throat pain, which is a symptom of fever. On sunday I had a splitting headache and fever in the morning. I noticed pus filled painful boils on both legs, 9 on the left leg and 5 on the right. 2 were really large and gross(I'm sorry I have to explain these) The entire area around the boils were sore. I think these came because of
the waxed area was not tapped after the pulling put the strips
dirty towel was used
They applied no cream or astringent
I had to go to a doctor and put myself on antibiotics . I'm still on the dosage. The boils haven't healed yet. I cant wear tight clothes. Its really painful. And saddest part- I have marks!:(
The final verdict
Do not step into Vibes Jayanagar for waxing. They are really dirty. Do not expect that you can change them for you. I'm not sure of the other services. I'll be back with my next review after I get my skin lightening facial and deep conditioning treatments done.
Dear all,
Since I've paid the money, 3310/-, I have no other go but to return to this place. Please pray that nothing happens to my face or hair after its all done. I've leaving myself to their mercy. I wish I knew if I could sue them.
