On 28th Feb I booked for a return flight from Jpn to Sg on via.com. As I plan to fly on late march it is quite a late timing and the flight is quite fully booked. unfortunately within 30mins via.com was not able to confirm a seat for me. this matter was explained to me by the staff that it was the airlines that hike the price I paid for suddenly but I am not willing to pay the price difference, hence I asked for a refund.(which of course my agreement with via.com is I am supposed to get a seat at the price I paid initially, not adding onto my fare therefore I think it is a little unfair to me.)
The refund took about 3 working days to complete and there was no complication.
I did call my bank the next day to inform them of this matter and they followed up with the company very quickly.
In short, the customer service was pleasant, (i was calling at around 1am in the morning) via.com is very responsive in my requests. I think some of us may have a different outcome if we were to exercise a little more patience in explaining our situation to the customer care operators and they will be quite willing to help you with your problems.
My bottomline, via.com seems to be a legitimate company and will definitely consider their service next time.
