Bloopers and an overall summary

First, some bloopers:

When our hero goes to New York and sees the dead bodies of his friends in the morgue, when they open the body bag that contains the woman, you can see her blinking her eyes quickly!

When the hero is chasing one of the villains who is on his motorbike, the hero, a noteworthy policeman, does not bother to use his siren, neither does he bother to call for backup, and nor does he ask for the mobile to be tracked. Later on when they leave the traffic and enter into a unpopulated area, hey, presto, the sirens come on magically!

This is our hero’s first visit to USA. But in a big meeting, he suddenly speaks English with a nice American accent! How fashionable!

In another scene, our hero goes from New York to New Jersey (cities virtually next to each other) in a private plane!

When going to the USA, our hero goes in economy class, yet, while coming back, he is in business class.

Jyotika, the heroine, arrives at New York to look for a job and stays at a nice 1st Class luxury hotel. How can one afford such hotels when being jobless?

The two villains, medical students, magically also know how to disguise themselves exceedingly well.

Throughout the movie, people are able to fly to the USA and come back at the drop of a hat. They are able to get tickets easily. hmmmmm

Now, about the movie itself:

As a die hard Kamal Hassan fan, I felt somewhat sad for him. I did not see anything of the Kamal that I remember seeing in, in movies like Nayakan, Oru Kaidiyin Dairy, Michael Madan Kaamaraj, and even Virumaandi. This should not have been a Kamal Hassan movie. It could have starred any of those tom dick and harry new comers instead. For the future, it would be better off if Kamal went on to take character roles like Amitabh does now. The other thing is that in spite of Kamal’s best efforts, his age and weight literally seep through his clothes.

The plot is not very convincing. It essentially involves two medical students who become serial killers for no apparent rhyme or reason. The hero’s intuition and hunches are not convincing. Overall, the movie fails to impress.

The actors have acted well, especially Kamal Hassan but even then, this movie does not even bring out an iota of Kamal’s talents as a versatile actor.

Whatever you do, don’t see this movie in the UK cinema halls. The movie was hacked to bits, many parts were cut and we were left guessing as to what had happened.
