At the very outset "Veere de Wedding" could have been the most alluring and inviting film in the recent times.
But it missed the bus by a wide gap .sadly
The film makers(the kapoors) had everything in their kitty, ample resources, brilliant cast, some crazy and colourful expletives, eye catching camerawork and four sexy, and bankable female protagonists.
Except a cohesive script. Except an interesting story to tell.
Extremely enjoyable in parts, the goings on decline deep down starved of a fine weaving story with a razor edge script to match. Getting hooked up into a marriage is no big deal. But the chic four, baggaging their own versions or matrimony and marital discord(sic) seem to be find an escape route to bad mouthing each other, drugs, alcohol and sex massaging their choicest of cuss words. The mother daughter relationship and father daughter bonding are too plastic to pile on.
There is nothing to write about male protagonists . They dress up well not to act at all. Genuine expressionless wonders.
The movie should be watched for some sizzling and dynamic chemistry among chic four is Kareena, Sonam, shikha and swara. All of them are blessed with the choicest and boldest of lines using every cuss words under the sun which at the end of the day could offend some and none to many.
A twenty odd minute Phuket outing is a treat to watch, Amazingly high on entertainment quotient, with inhibitions galore, it makes way to seeking redemptions. The four ladies are in top form here which makes the movie worth the price of a ticket.
As for the performances, Kareena, in a bid to save her star image falls short of expectations and is easily overshadowed by her peer group. Using least of cuss words, she does have some stray moments. As for Sonam, a spell of indecision catches up which takes a toll on her act. She looks everything but a lawyer.
Shikha, luckily grabs and impresses with her "charamsukh" slang. She is the most natural amongst the four.
But it is Swara Bhasker who takes the cake and eats it too. She wins them all and comes back alone. She is fantastic, having her sharp moments which make the movie more believable, watchable and credible . Of course her charmasukh scene may offend many who pretend to be purist and in want of moral policing.
Music is sync with the theme.zingy and foot tapping
All in all. its a movie which u will hate to love or fall in love with.
Just go and fall in the love with the damsels in delicious distress.
