Last week I watched Veer-Zaara.I watched this movie because in an interview Mr.Chopra said : Veer-Zaara is not a love triangle. Most love triangles are old wine in a new bottle,I find that boring. Summary The movie starts with a song. After the song I see Rani(Samia)at the graveyard. A minute later she is in the jail looking for a qaidi. The qaidi is SRK(veer prataap singh). She calls him by his name and he responds. They have a few conversations. In these conversations SRK tells about his home and about Preity(Zaara hayaat khan). SRK loved her but he did not now that Preity was engaged to Manoj bajpai.(forgot his name in the movie) After the interval SRK says that she does love me.Preity's friend Shabbo helps them to be together. The ''evil''manoj bajpai says bad things to SRK and he has to sign a paper if he loves Preity. He does that and lands up in jail. Back to the present...Rani who is a lawyer promises to release SRK from jail after 22 years. She registers the case and in the first court sequence the opposites are stronger. She thinks that she'll lose the case. Preity comes to help her and they win the case. Performances SRK-He does justice to the role of Veer Prataap singh. Rani-She does a decent job as Samia Preity-Her role is small. All she does is dancing around trees and a bit crying. She is ok. Divya Dutta as Shabbo is quite good.Manoj Bajpai,Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher are good too.Big B and Hema Malini don't get much scope.(I don't think they were needed) Songs I only like Tere liye. The other songs are ok.The music reminds me of DDLJ. Rating The first half of VZ is DDLJ.The second half is quite good except the climax. In the climax you want to know how Preity proves the identity of SRK but instead you'll get to see the picturization of Tere Liye. The movie is too long and sometimes predictable. See it once
