I was never too much into the Yash chopra Movies. I always found them too sugary sweet with black and white emotions. Well Veer Zaara is no different. An inoffensive film is the biggest compliment I can pay for this boring movie.

The movie barely acknowledges the tensions b/w India and Pakistan. Seeing the movie one could be forgiven for believing that India and Pakistan are friendly neighbours who never went to war with each other. The groom's people had no qualms about accepting a pakistani girl while the only seeming objection from the bride's side was that she was already engaged. Hell the couple in DDLJ (both Indians) faced more parental objections. Nobody is asking for another Pak bashing film. But some ground realities please, especially when the whole story was hyped as a cross border love story, can do.

Moving onto the story, it is a rehash of DDLJ minus the sparks and ending.

Acting - was never a fan of Shahrukhs acting but always felt that he has a lot of Charisma which more than makes up for his acting skills. Here he looks old in certain scenes and is just about o.k Preity Zinta - Always felt that she was one of the most overrated actress in bollywood alongwith Kareena kapoor. She looks pretty and has acted o.k. Nothing great. Rani - was better in the later scenes. She is a very good actress. Amitabh & Hema - look exceedingly good with each other and exuded more spark and chemistry than the lead pair

Overall a highly bland movie. But I guess the sleek marketing should do the trick. And we can also expect, as is the trend in this industry, Veer Zaara to sweep all the awards.
