My mom is a bit traditional type and she is very particular that we should wash our hair with shikkakai paste and use home made bath powder instead of shampoo and body wash during festival days. She herself prepares shikkakai powder and bath powder for us.
Once it happened that my mom wanted to try a herbal hair color and when she went out to the market she bought Vcare shampoo hair color and Vcare shikkakai paste. The paste wasn't original and anyone who uses pure shikkakai powder can easily make it out. Also it contains chemicals to generate foam. It is a mere shampoo based paste with a shikkakai tinge and nothing more than that.
