Vaastu Shastra - Myth or Reality

Story:

No, im not discussing about a movie or a book, but something that is purely science. There was one time when my uncle said my house is designed as per Vastu I just shrugged this off.Till I met my hubby who was planning on renovating this house and apply the vastu principles. He gave me a small book to read and this had all the exaustible information about Vaastu. I was shocked to read that the alignment of the house also could affect health and prosperity that comes into the house.

I would just like to quote a few lines from Wikipedia that would throw more light on vastu and also clarify that it is indeed a science,This for people who feel that a word has to be defined in its fullest sense.

Vaastu Shastra deals with various aspects of designing and building living environments that are in harmony with the physical and metaphysical forces/ energies of the cosmos such as the gravitational, electromagnetic and supernatural.

Credit to : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaastu_Shastra

I have noticed that my hubbys place was not aligned as per vastu before renovation, he had lost his mother and sister in a span of 10 years,And there were other misfortunes happening in and around what ever he would undertake,But the moment we aligned our house as per vastu things were different, there was more harmony in the house.More opportunities for my husband and myself. The trees started bearing more fruit. This is just a small testimony of the effects of Vastu.

I feel it is wrong to mix it up with religion,The reason religion was infused in vastu is so that the common man would make vastu a habit and implement it, in fear of the supernatural. But those wisemen of yesteryears were indeed wise may be that was the only way to implement it in a common mans home. But now education is widespread we can try and test things ourself. If it works in our favor there is no harm in trying it out.

So people who believe in physics I have another quote from the same site that would make more sense.here goes.

Vaastu Shastra prescribes desirable characteristics for sites and buildings based on flow of energy. Many of the rules are attributed to cosmological considerations - the sun's path, the rotation of the earth, magnetic field, etc., The morning sun is considered especially beneficial and purifying and hence the East is a treasured direction. The body is considered a magnet with the head, the heaviest and most important part, being considered the North Pole and the feet the South pole. Hence sleeping with one's head in the North is believed to cause a repulsive force with the earth's magnetic North and thus considered harmful. Bedrooms are therefore designed keeping this in mind. This is a wide spread practice in Tamil Nadu even today

Just notice the word flow of energy,Just imagine the bulb we use why does it glow when we switch it on.Its because there was an energy that flows in and out of it.Why does the water seep into the ground or why does the river flow. Its all a pull of gravity or just because energy has to flow.So what happens if it is blocked or applied in a reverse direction in case of a bulb it wouldnt glow and in case of a river it would get stagnant and cause devestation as in floods and in case the water is not allowed to seep into the soil may be there would be no water table and effect the wells. What I feel is that energy has to constantly flow and get converted from one leavel into another.
