I had visited Vasan eye care Bommanahalli back in march 2014 for My Mom. She had a head ache while reading for long time. After the checkup of her vision with optometrist, they said that the power of the glasses to be increased to double.
We agreed and went to optical to choose the lens. They offered us the progressive lens and explained the benefits. It was told that normally it would take maximum 1 week to get adjusted to progressive lens and after that it will be better than the bifocal. Starting price quoted was 4750 and we placed the order.
After two days we got the delivery and when she tried she was absolutely not able to read anything. We waited for 1 week and nothing changed.
I went back to them and told the issue. After the check they said there is some problem with lens alignment and it will be corrected in one day and give. Again got the delivery after a day but nothing changed. I again went back and asked for a refund. Then the person in opticals did some changes in lens alignment and she could at least read something but with lots of strain.
We decided to try it for sometime. But even after a month, nothing really improved and she was comfortable using her old specks with less power. Finally decided to check somewhere else and got it checked from a different clinic in Kerala. They said the power of the glasses are almost double than what actually she requires. And placed a new order and got the lens for half the price, around 2000 Rs. And she is very much comfortable with the glasses now.
I don't want to take it up with Vasan this case and waste my time. But wanted to inform you guys about this mistake in the very basics department of optical department.
Better keep away from Vasan. When they cant check the vision properly, how can you trust them for surgeries!
