it's finally arrived.the film i've been looking forward to most this year.Simbhu is finally completed his Vallavan and released it to the public.now an advantage that I had was that I saw the film with the man himself.so while watching the film I was told by him why he wrote the scene the way he did and why he shot the scene the way he did.i would definately say this isn't a family movie.watch it by yourself or with your friends and don't miss it in theatres.

Story:

Simbhu is looking for a girlfriend.he meets Nayanthara.Nayanthara is 3 years older than him and that too a lecturer at his college.he hides his age from her.they sleep together.Nayanthara comes to know that Simbhu is a liar and the marriage is called off.then Simbhu has a flashback of his affair with Reema Sen.i'll stop there

Plusses:

Silambarasan's direction-i love this man's direction.definately my new favorite director.i will be waiting for his next directed film.his direction is definately way better than his dad's.

Performances-the performances are definately top notch.more about this later

Music-Yuvan Shankar Raja is a god.the background score is amazing.i loved the music in the background whenever Simbhu comes on screen. the hey valla hey valla.my favorite off the soundtrack is Yemaddi Atthadi,Hip Hip Hurrey,and Vallava

Screenplay-Simbhu's screenplay is way better than his script for Manmadhan.and me saying that is big because Manmadhan is my favorite film.it's fast paced and it feels like an hour in a half and not 3.

Second half-The second half definately takes the film to an all new level.starting off with the flashback.

Climax-definately one i'll never forget.took me by surprise

Minuses:

it drags a couple of times and it's not one you'd watch with family.

Performances:

Reema Sen-what a performance.i expected something but what I got was more than I expected.her performance alone is worth the price of the ticket.definately a performance she'll be remembered for.i thought she looked great through the film too.

Nayanthara-i expected more from her but she did a great job and looked hot through the film

Sandhya-she did an excellent job in her small role

T.R. Silambarasan as Vallavan-I love this guy.i love him even more after this film.he's my favorite Tamil actor ever.this man can do it all.he can act,direct,write,sing,and dance.this man is a god.to say his performance is excellent is an understatement.i think this is his best performance to date.everything he was feeling you felt.everything he felt you could see in his eyes.what a performance.

All in all this film will take you by surprise.the high points of the film are Simbhu and Reema Sen's performance,along with a great climax,and excellent music.this film is a super-hit all the way.
