Its always said that the old fashions / trends keep on getting repeated after a span of few years.

In terms of clothing, the Mumtaz style 1970's tight-fitting short kurtas now sells like hot-cake in Westside. The Om printed tops sported by Zeenat and all the hippies in Hare Rama Hare Krishna are in vogue for quite a while now.

Moving onto Politics, the ''Jee-Hujur'' style of spoons of Indira Gandhi in late 70s and early 80s are now wandering near the bahu-in-law of country in 2000s.

Coming to our topic of Cinema now, I can see the same trend of ''repeat after decades'' is coming to Horror movies too.

Let me explain how it back ..

Ramsays and their horror-humor movies:

Kahani Raja ki ... Gharane ka shaap ... Scantily clad ugly chic ... Third level ka struggler hero ... Some comic character ... One and only Sambari ! These were the common ingredient in Ramsay's movies.

Oops.. I missed on the vital part. The Horror! Ramsay's hired on person called Sambri and rented one old and worn out place somewhere in timbaktoo and included the ingredient from raja ki kahani to the sambri and churned out the movies with changed title every time.

Their movies ranged from the purana haveli, purana mandir to kabrastan and Do gaj jamin ke niche !

The movies lacked variety, lacked some new thinking to scare us off. Instead it used the same old technique of masks, old curses !

The first movie seen , for the first time created some buzz, some horror. Later on, it was all the same.

Ramu and horror :

Bhoot scared people to the extreme ! I still remember the person sitting next to me sliding down the chair when the twisted watchman appeared on the chair ! Everytime the background music went loud, people in the theatre shivered in shock, terrorised to the extreme. Bhoot definitely gave a new outlook to the scary movies.

Ramu's earlier movie called Koun was also a stunner with people shaking on every background score.

Next came Darna Mana hein and now Vaastu Shastra !

Speak of Vaastu Shastra :

This is a isshtory of a family consisting of Zilmil , a doctor(Sushmita), Virag , the writer (Satya without big beard), their kid and sush's sis played by sweet pia. Talented Marathi actress Rasika Joshi playes Rakma.

This is a story of some people named Manish, Jyoti, and two grown-ups people with application of same make-up material left un-used in bhoot.

Its a movie about Sush and her family staying in a bunglow inhabited by some bhoots with Bhoot's effects spill over here...

Un-Used and re-used stuff from Bhoot :

I remember making some wonderful and tasty dishes in the morning from yestrr night's left over food. And believe me, they were tastier than the Original food.

But this should not necessarily happen in case of Movies.

There are quite a basi effects from the Bhoot.

1. The Make-up of bhoots :It seems that the Bhoots in Ramu's movies should necessarily appear with faces painted with ash. Invariably, the deads look same in all movies or Ramu. Remember the way, Sambri looked same in all the Ramsay movies.

2. The Cameraman's itch : Dont understand why the camera needs to be shaken because Cameraman does not wear VIP's hands-free comfort ! Oops..

The jerky movements of camera in Bhoot , the mystical movements in the dark continue here. Sounds something that we are seeing in ramsay movies

3. Sound effects:The unexpected background score, loud dhums and thups are now charactersied in Ramu's movies.

Remember one tune that Ramsay's play during their movies. I had that tune on my mobile too !

Pros of the Movie :A few shocking, not scary moments. Wonderful sush and sweet pia. And yes, that fantastic kid expressing his emotions via eyes !

Cons of the movie: Don't have any mystery value attached to it. U can make out what's gonna happen next. Repititive sound effects if u have seen Bhoot and Koun earlier.

------------------------------------------------------------

Neena announces making of a movie

------------------------------------------------------------

Titled : There is something about Ramu and Ramsay

Casting:Antara Mali, Rajpal Yadav and Sambri

What to expect:A lot of predictable background sound, lotta camera movement over and above the objects, Antara Mala in the double role of Lead Actress and Bhoot.

Kya lagta he ? Would be a treat ?

Let me know folks....
