Service Centre issues continues with VU again….


Yesterday 9 Mar 2016…I call VU Customer Care @ 1800 # to log in a complaint that the Power On Button on my remote and TV is not working.


Call is Faizabad by Harshad, he asks me to get the remote to MIDC service centre.


I specifically question him, will I get a new remote if the old one cannot be repaired, as I will be leaving my Office hours to come to VU service centre and don’t want to waste time if its not available, he takes my TV Model # and assures me a new one will be made available for Rs.1, 800/-.


So today 10 Mar 2016 I leave my meetings to go the esteemed MIDC service centre of VU(please note earlier too I had a terrible experience with service provided by VU).


At the reception the Lady calls someone and I am handed over her cell phone to speak with Afrin the Customer Care Rep.


I tell/ explain to her that only the Power Button in my current Remote is not working and that it can be repaired by putting a Carbon Chipset and if I can hand it over for the repair.


She says I will have to leave the remote for one day, and they will update me tomorrow if it can be repaired or not…I ask her why will it so much time just to let me know if it can be repaired or not to which she responds there is no one to look in to it.


First of all you ask the Customer to come to the Service Centre and then you tell him that no one is there to look into your problem, kudos to your Customer Care.


The call gets disconnected or she hung up on me am not sure, but she doesn’t bother to call back, I ask the receptionist to call her back.


Afrin  now gives me the rates of New Remotes…I say fine you see if this can be repaired if not will look into buying a new one.


So someone reluctantly comes down to take the remote, I ask him will he give me an acknowledgement or something for keeping the remote, to which he says he will get it back in 10 Mins.


10 Mins later he is back saying it cannot be repaired and if you want to buy a new one you have to give 2 Days advance intimation.


In short:




  • Firstly I am told no Technician is there




  • Then someone checks my remote in 5 Mins(where It would take a day as stated by Afrin) not sure how qualified that guy was and says it cannot be repaired. Looks like he dint even bother to check.




  • The Problem was a minor one(Carbon Chip change only for Power On button), still VU technicians couldn’t solve it, not sure how qualified your people are, or do you even train them in Customer Care.




  • For New Remote I have to give 2 Days advance intimation, not sure why I was asked to come to the Service Centre in the first place, even after telling I will have to sacrifice on office hours to come+ time and expense involved.






Now not sure if you will even bother to action the above grievance, but one thing is for sure I will be visiting Inorbit Mall and any other VU TV outlets and will personally enlighten the customers there about the pathetic after Shruthisharma service of VU. Even after so many years your after Shruthisharma standards have still not improved.
