Not bad. Not bad at all. Infact VIVA RELOADED is pretty good, even if not as versatile as their first album VIVA. But then again, there was a reason for that....every song had been done by a different composer! No more seema ramchandani this time! But the girls anushka manchanda, pratichee mohapatra, mahua kamat and neha bhasin do pull off a great second album! So there...lets get ahead with some of their 'reloaded' energy...
The album opens with YEH PYAAR NAHI TOH KYA HAI, penned by (believe it or not!) 2 of the VIVA girls anushka and neha! And trust me, the lyrics is quite decent! There's a dash of angrezi in between and a lot of techno! Actually, the techno and digitalization does become the essence of the entire album! But definitely, this opening track is honestly impressive!
Then comes CHORI CHORI ANKHON SE, followed by ZINDAGI MERE SAATH. Now, incidentally both the songs have similar videos of the girls having a good time singing around the streets with a lot of attitude, giggling and looking pretty in their designers (and some real awsome set of threads....trust this aspirant!) The lyrics are quite different though. CHORI CHORI is mintfresh romantic, might remind you of JAHAN HO PYAR KA MAUSAM from VIVA.
ZINDAGI...is a rather girl-feelin-on-top-of-the-world kinda number! But what I mean to say is that, they both have quite a similar flavour to them....not that u'll complain though!
DEEWANO JANE DO ends the first side of the cassette. Cute. Actually...this one is what every female tries to throw at every goddamn MCP! Hear it and enjoy!
Side B opens with a traditional punjabi number, with a folk essence to it. APNE CHAUBARE TE MAIN takes you to the serenity of a typical chandigarh di household, its backyard, khet shet and charpai sharpai!
Its about the naughty n cute puppy love between....well...u no who and u no who! Girl and boy yaar...what did u think?
Remix time now! The last three tracks are all remixes....
Though I hate the concept of it, I think TABDEER SE has been rehashed rather well...though no comparisons with the original geeta dutt version!
Then comes JAAGO ZARA, their own song...just that now you get to hear the SALIM SULEIMAN MIX!
Quite okay-dokey! Nothing to write home about....
The last song is definitely the worst of the lot. Another remix of LEKAR HUM DEEWANA DIL...(by panchamda...ouch!) will put u in a bizarre hip hop kind of an ambience. And if you have heard the original....and I bet you have...you will hate this one! Very very lacklusture!
One thing is for sure, VIVA sure can repeat history...in their debut album too, the last track was simply 'unedible'...remember...KALI MAI DIYA SALAI? Ha ha!
I wouldnt say, this one is a must have....but its not bad a either. More recommended to the gals out there...VIVA is basically for us man!
Even their first album mainly compiled the different moods of us girls! Buy this one...you wont be at loss!
