Not suitable for home use. Review on V-Guard Solar Water Heaters

I have one V Guard solar water heater.

While purchasing they have claimed the item will not go faulty and the faulty part will be covered under guarentee. When I have a complaint I booked a complaint they have taken nearly one month for rectifying the fault that also with cost of the vaccuum tube and service charge. ie Rs.450 for tube and Rs.100 as service charge. They only attended the case after firing my best. The shop( Supreme Battery house, Thalap, Kannur) asked me to transport the vaccuum tube to my home( that is not having any protective covering even a paper cover)

Very surprising is that when I claim for free replace, they told that the vaccuum can't replacing and asked to read the Guarentee card. Then I have studied the Guarentee terms, I understood that in any circumstances any part of the equipment is not replaced. any one interested I can sent the scaned copy of Guarentee card.

The solar water heater is having 3 parts 1.Vaccuum tubes, 2.Storage tank 3.Metal frame.

Even with this simple items the cost is about Rs.18000 for 100L.( Which can be manufactured by just Rs. 5000) There is no moving parts or motors

You can purchase a 200L refrigerator just for rs.10000/-

The solar water heater is having storage tank capacity below the rated capacity ie only 76L tank for 100L

We will not get a very hot water in the fine morning for bathing. When one person had taken one bucket of water(20L), the next person will not get a hot water because the tank will be replaced with cold water and the existing water will be mixed and the temperature of the water lowers

When we compare with invstment, Rs.2000 as interst and Rs. 2000 as depreciation should be counted. In addition some maintanance cost also shoul be accounted.

Some of the maintanace work involved.

1.Cleaning of NRV valve, that require help of a plumber

1. Clean the fungus on the glass tube which may affect the heat absorbtion. In many cases it is not possible with elders(ie the water heater may installed at places where not easily reachable, ie assistance also required.)

   
   




2. In many cases the delevery point will be far from the tank out put. This makes to flow out the cold water before getting hot water.
