I had never tried punjabi dishes before I went to urban tadka last week with friends at sakinaka(Andheri E) . We planned to went there for a birthday celebration of one of my friend. Sakinakaa four way connected junction being very densely populated have many restobar in alane starting from urban tadka to curry twister.When I go out for a meal, I usually like to sample different cuisines and not Punjabi food since that’s what’s made at home. They provide a vallet parking thus your vehicle is safe.Both poptates and urban tadka are joint under a same franchise.
Just we entered and it was like Wow!.The Ambiance is good and awesome one.The decor of the restaurant is really fun! It’s very casual and loud, but not so loud that you can’t make conversation. The portion sizes are also really generous! It was feeling like we are in Punjab in air conditioned dhaba.The ambiance was designed in very traditional way.The small small lights then charpai and lot more things resembled the feeling of Punjab.Pots and pans and cloth and other knick-knacks hanging off the walls.Sensational old songs are keep playing in the background which catches our attention.The tables and chair little vintage in looks drives the feel of Punjab.The place is very clean.
Coming to starters nothing beats the Nimbu Mushroom . It’s just totally yummy, and I could even have that for an entire meal.This is one of the least spicy dishes available at Urban Tadka.Then we ordered chicken tikka and lollipop and literally it was the best chicken tikka I ever had.The gravy of the tikka was very tasty and spicy too.Yeah those who dont like spicy please try it you will surely like it.coming to lollipop yeah its very tasty.The pieces were very crunchy and less oily. They also have a Wah Wah CholeI ordered it because the name was cute and it is delicious, but after a bite, my mouth was on fire.
We ordered murg tikka masala in main course.Yeah the names of the dishes are very unique.In simple terms it was chicken handi.Butter naan are the best one to have this.The place is very hygienic and even food too. Wahan ki Nimbu pani ki toh baat hi kuch aur hai.There are lots of vegetable and paneer mains to choose from, but my favorite vegetable at Urban Tadka is the Sarson ka Saag it is served with two makai ki rotis.
The other popular dishes are Surmai ke tikke, Khandhari murg and malai kebabs.Then coming to raita I loved the pudina raita bt my other friends loved subzi and boondi raita as well.
Finally, dessert!They have desserts like gulab jamun, phirni, and ice cream, but whenever I’ve gotten dessert here it’s always the jalebi.The jalebi's are so huge and crisp and very sweet in flavour.It is served with rabbdi malai which play its contrasting part very well.It would be nice if they would include something chocolaty.
The service is the best, I’ve never had any complaints.They also have a home delivery service within a limited area and It’s quick .The staff also provides a quality service.They are not gathered around your table so space is maintained and they are not too far also so that they can be called easily.Speed of the service is little low but its ok because we were not in a rush.When we started celebrating friends birthday they played a Happy birthday song which was awesome.
Liquor lovers for you all brands of whisky, vodka, rum and all time favorite beer are available.
Urban Tadka also has soft beverages and mocktails.According to me lassi everyone should try it. Urban tadka mein Lassi nai piya toh kya piya.They have a happy hours from 3.00pm to 7.00pm in which buy one get one offer is valid for any drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic.shots are also available in a reasonable rate.
The restaurant is not too expensive particularly for vegeterians. But plus point of urban tadka is quality wins over quantity.Overall Urban tadka is a good value for money and specially for enjoying occasions with your near one's.Those who love punjabi food they should must try it. They are good for families as well for group of friend and also for couples.But they are the best for foodie people because foodie people are in hunger for such places and it is one of among them.
