Get Attacked By Uno

Sometimes in life one can get bored. And a child in particularly! As a parent you have to try and find ways to help that child/children out with their boredom. Sometimes that is easy and sometimes that is hard to do. But perhaps I have a way to help you parents out a bit!

While at my sisters home during Thanksgiving 2002, we played a wonderful game called Uno® Attack™ by Mattel™! We had so much fun with this game. My son wanted one for Christmas and so Santa being the wonderful person that she (yes I said she) got one for him!

The Product

Uno® Attack™ is one of America’s number one family games. I agree with this statement! “The frenzied, unpredictable version of the popular Uno® Game” “It’s A Rapid Fire Card Shoot Out” that has an electronic card launcher and sound alert.

It has a purple base with a red cover with the Uno® logo written on both sides. The button that you press when you don’t have the card on top is oval with the popular Uno® logo on it. You will find this button on top of the purple base. (Just like in the picture.)

The cost was 19.92 at my local Wal Mart.

What You Get

112 cards as follows: 18 blue 1-9, 18 green 1-9, 18 red 1-9, 18 yellow 1-9, 8 hit 2 cards – 2 each color, 8 reverse cards – 2 each color, 8 skip cards – 2 each color, 4 discard all cards 1 each color, 4 trade cards – 1 each color, 4 wild cards, 2 wild all hit cards, 2 wild hit fire cards, card launcher top and of course the card launcher bottom (base.)

Object Of The Game

Choose a dealer. Each player gets 7 cards. After the cards are dealt, the dealer turns one card over and places on top of the launcher top and puts the other cards inside the launcher base, closing the top over them.

The play starts to the left by that person (the exception is if the reverse cards is the first card) putting a match of the card on top either by color or number and the turns precede accordingly. If you don’t have a card that will play you have to press the button. If any cards come out then you have to keep them. However there are times when no cards come out, which is good if it’s your turn, but can be bad for the next person in line because should they have to press the button a lot of cards can come flying out. Then again, they may get lucky and no cards or very few come out.

The game plays until there is one person who has no cards left! However, should you be the one to anticipate that you are going to win you must say “last card” or “Uno” you could loose the game. Then of course you have to hope that you can play your last card at your next turn. This will not be the case some times. The same game can also go on for hours, but sometimes they are quick and simple, just depends on the cards! Each person takes a turn at dealing should you keep playing.

The first person that gets to 500 looses leaving the player with the least amount of score as the winner. Scoring is as follows: all cards through 9 are face value, reverse, skip, hit-2 cards are 20 points, discard all, trade hands are 30 points and wild, wild all hit and wild hit fire are 50 points. .

Most of the cards are self explanatory as with the card game of Uno®. And the directions are clear to follow. And of course if any of the special cards are the first card turned over the person to the left of dealer must play that card. With the exception of the “trade hands” card, which is put back into the deck. You should certainly read all the instructions before playing. In fact you will need them until you get use to the game and the play of each card. But, you have a basic idea of how it’s played. You only want to use the “trade hands” card with a person who has the least amount of cards.

You certainly want to throw down anything that will require the next person in line to have to hit the button, which will hopefully spit out a lot of cards. The more cards your opponents have the better for you. And use your wild cards wisely!

You just really have to play to get a true feeling of the game. And you will be glad that you did play!

How I Feel

We have been playing this game since Santa left it at our home for Christmas. We spent New Year’s Eve playing this game with my son and had so much fun! He has learned to play it rather well and he understands all the rules. Also, when adding up the score my son does try, so this game is also a way to help him learn better math skills. And his being in the third grade right now, learning multiplying, division, basic math, Uno® Attack™ has helped him a lot!

It’s easy to learn to play and the directions are easy to follow, which makes things go smoothly when learning to play. We also have the card game of Uno®, but have found this to be much more fun to play! And you can take it with you while traveling!

You may get a lot of cards spit out at you should you have to press the button or you may get a few or even none, but which ever, the game is very fun to play and we all have a great time doing so. We have laugh with one another, at one another, make threats and laugh some more!

Remember that you have to play smart and watch all moves played! And you have to watch those husbands and sons for they will try their best to gang up on you! But, I out smart them almost every time!

Requires 3 C Batteries. And if the rollers seem to not be working properly, just clean them with a little rubbing alcohol by using a soft cloth.

I hope that this has helped in some kind of way.

God Bless!
