I bought a karbon smart tab1 couple of months back thru indiatimes.com, as promised the product was promptly delivered. Coming to the not so smart tab, my first experience was horrific as the OTG cable provided by the company was not working. I contacted indiatimes and they promptly registered a complaint and told me that they will get back to me but there was no response.
I tried to contact united telelinks karbon bangalore, 3 ph nos are given online, but none of them are of any use as 2 nos are always kept in the busy mode[Deliberately I think] and one no goes on and on ringing and I think nobody at the karbon office is bothered to pick it up.I got fed up and went to a local phone shop and bought a OTG cable paying Rs 150.
Coming to the free reliance netconnect promised by the company, it is a total bogus offer as reliance has not introduced 3g services at all in Karnataka state[Dont know about other states]which I came to know only after visiting reliance world outlet.
Then a few days back the tab hung while my son was playing a game, so I did a soft reset after which mobile broadband drivers just vanished and the 3g column in the settings tab was totally missing.I searched for the drivers on their website, which is a hopeless one, one doesn't get any information at all forget about drivers.I took the tab to a so called authorized dealer near my place but they were clueless about the drivers and suggested me to go to the main united telelinks office.
I do understand that it is a budget tab but then why to claim that it is a smart tab which is good for playing games and watching HD movies.The fact is most of the apps fail to get installed as a msg saying your device is not compatible for the app comes and about games, with most of the 3d games post installation the tab becomes so slow, one feels like throwing the tab into a trash.
My suggestion to prospective buyers is not to fall into the trap of some of these fraud Indian phone companies who promise nothing but moon on TV ads but after purchase one will get a feeling that they have got cheated and they have not got the product worth there money.
Most of these companies are getting made in china phones and tabs and just putting there label and selling it in the market. There is absolutely no post sales service. After such a bitter experience like this, i have decided that I will never ever buy an Indian brand electronic or computer product
