Here's my experience with United Packers and Movers. they are all united in giving you the worst experience of your life.

I had received their quotation, bearing reference no. 1127, for packingand moving my household belongings from Hyderabad to New Delhi, through mail on 2nd of July 2008.

After several telephonic discussions with Mr. Yadav(9396858560), Ibooked your services for shifting of household items from Hyderabad toNew Delhi on 22nd of July 2008.

I took comprehensive insurance cover Rs.1.5 Lacs for which I paid premium at the rate of 3% amounting to Rs.4500/- and my total bill including the insurance cover was Rs.27, 673/- including insurancepremium and service tax.

I paid Rs.18, 673/- advance+ Rs.300/- as G.R. amount(God knows what that is for.), in Hyderabad and balance Rs.9000/- was to be paid in New Delhi on delivery of goods

I asked for the insurance cover note but it was not provided to me. I am sure no insurance was done on my household items.

In New Delhi, their staff insisted on advance payment of the balance amount of Rs.9000/- before delivery of the goods, which was strange asthe payment terms are usually'payment on delivery'. The truck was even taken back from our house without delivery because we insisted payment on delivery. Eventually, since my household items were held at ransom and I was forced to go to their Delhi office at Bijwasan to pay the balance amount of Rs.9000/- in order to receive my goods on 29.07.08.

When I expressed concern on what would be the reimbursement procedure if I find my household belongings in damaged condition, I was assured that I would get my claim processed within 25 days and would receive cheque in my name.

As I had feared, I received several items in broken, dented and condemned condition. The details of the damaged goods were written by me on their copy of challan LR No.1002. I myself assessed the damage to be for approximately Rs.5000/- to 7000/-.

We have visited their Delhi office several times for the reimbursement but nobody talks to us properly. The people that we haveto deal with keep changing so that everytime we have to tell the whole story again and again. Calling them on phone is out of question because either the guy who picks up the phone keeps changing or. simply asks you to repeat every other sentence and the whole story again and again but sticks to his standard response. that the concerned person is not in town.

They never showed us the Insurance cover note or, neither did they give us the insurance case number. And their is no correspondence orany claim letter that they have sent to any insurance office, as no insurance was done on my goods.

The people that I kept changing their statements on theissue of damaged goods and the reimbursement issue have stopped responding to my phone calls. Mr. Yadav(9396858560), Mr. Aman(9818880316), Mr. Rajneesh( 9818335330), etc.

The rude and discourteous behavior of their staff in Delhi and Hyderabad. The entire staff consists of Harayanvi Jats. who, I don't think, know the what the word professionalism means. They are totally uneducated.(you should note how they fill the quotation forms or the packing list. I got my doubts then but it was too late by that time.)
