Do not go for United. Review on United National Packers and Movers

I should begin by saying that the biggest mistake is mine, because I called up the United guys to shift my Stuff. Then I was stupid enough to believe the United guy that my stuff would be shifted from Bangalore to Bhagalpur within 10 days.

The person from United Packers "Mr, Shailender" in Bangalore came to our place, looked at the stuff and quoted a reasonbly high fee. But considering we were shifting stuff which approximated to 35000 Rs, we thought it was worth it. The stuff was taken on 15th of April and they promised that it would reach Bhagalpur Warehouse by 25th. Some stuff was to be sent to Mumbai as well. He said Mumbai , there was no problem, and it would be sent within a week's time.

One week went by and there was no news from United. We called up Shailender and he said that it would reach in 2 days to Mumbai. 2 days later when we called Mr.Shailender had dissapeared and Mr.Ashok came on the line. He said he was new and didnt know anything. He said he would call back. 2 to 3 days went by trying to extract information from him. Frustrated, I called up Mumbai office, where a Miss.Karishma answered the phone. She is the biggest phony of all, please dont believe a word she says. She made a drama, by calling up Ashok and demanding where the stuff was. Then she assured me that the stuff would reach in 2 days. It was already 13 days and Mumbai stuff had not reached. Meanwhile, the Kolkatta office called Bhagalpur and said the stuff would reach in 4 days. So we sent our man to collect it. But then Kolkatta guys said that the stuff had not reached.

Karishma told me that Mumbai stuff would reach in a few more days. as the stuff had not even started from Bangalore after 13 days!!! In frustration we told her that this is pathetic service and they should take more responsibility. In turn she said "You are not doing us a favour by sending your stuff with us!!! Its not like your stuff is lost. It will reach ok." Infact Ashok also changed his tune and said that they were just franchisee's of United and they really did not know who else to contact or how to escalate the matter.

After more than 20 days, the Mumbai stuff arrived. Well, Bhagalpur stuff had dissapeared. Finally after more than a month, and continuous pestering Ashok said "I will tell you the truth. You luggage is in Hyderabad. Our vehicle met with an accident, so we are waiting for the other vehicle to come pick it from there. He said he will not lie and that it would take 10 more days to reach. The stuff finally arrived Bhagalpur on 3rd June, some 48 days later.

When we checked the luggage, here was the damage list :

1) Crockery broken,

2) Washing Machine pipe eaten by Rats.

3) Fridge door dented.

4) Missing item - basket to keep washed utensils.

And all they did was to give us in writing that these were the things damaged. From Hyderabad they actually sent it through GATI and so at time of picking up the GATI guy had no idea why it had been such a big delay or why the things were damaged. The truth is, that they tried to cut costs, by sending stuff through their own vehicle, it crashed somewhere, our stuff was damaged, then they stored it somewhere for many days where rats ate it and finally sent it by GATI.

This is the most pathetic service I have ever seen. They are liars to the core. I dare the owner / CEO of this firm to meet me. I would really like to tell him what a pathetic organisation he is running. They take your stuff worth thousands of rupees and then hold you ransom for many days.

Please do not go for their DIS-SERVICE ever...
