In the past I have used movers & packers & I wasn't greatly satisfied they were not so bad. This time I decided to take few quotes before doing the shifting. The representative who came to asses ensured me that they take no advance payment till the goods reach destination. in other cases I had paid an advance & later the balance after the goods reached me.
The days of shifting around 8 men walked in @ 8am in the morning out of which 6 didn't have any idea of the work. all of them were horribly dirty & no sense of hygiene, the way they started handling things shocked me & I called the concerned person & told him to take his people back. He ensured me they are experienced and spoke to one of them & assured me things will go smoothly. Despite I had to micro manage everything & see that things are safe. The quality of wrapping paper & scotch used by them is horrible I must admit.
Once the packing was done finally at 1pm & things were loaded I got a call from their office saying I should pay them the whole amount in cash right away otherwise they will not carry the work further. This was a utter shock. I tried contacting the person who had initially come to inspect my place & agreed upon payment after reaching the final destination. but he was just not reachable. This is a tactic they play. The person answered my call in the morning and now suddenly he was on leave.
Other people from the office insisted they want full payment. I was in difficult situation. I had to empty this flat by today, so, I cannot put the things back. They will not agree for partial payment. I decided to take the risk & paid after 2 hours of arguments on the phone.
I left the city & reached the destination by 4pm and my goods were suppose to come by 5pm. Initially they refuse to give me driver's cell no, finally they did. I realised it will take long time before it will reach. infact my things arrived @ 9.30 pm & it was a bad scene again. workers are just horrible, they want to dump things & run away. finally horrible experience is over.
Please keep in mind, these are no professionals, only robbers & cheaters. Don't use them. Don't think of saving few thousand rupees and get into such trouble. I hope these people get to suffer enough like they made me suffer for no reason.
