Their ATM Cards MAY NOT WORK. Review on Union Bank Of India

I was attracted to open an account with Union Bank of India as there is a branch very close to my home AND more importantly, the Branch has a very courteous ( strange it may sound BUT this is

TRUE............................Chakkarpur Branch, Gurgaon ) staff .

I asked for and received an ATM card from the branch;      nothing special ! about this.

BUT, strangely, my first interaction at the ATM was thwarted with the message saying

" Card Already Issued". Here, let me confess that  " I should not have thrown away my PIN in disgust." -

OR

is it still lying with me UNTRACED ?

More was in store ..........just a week later, an ATM card with a back dated "date of issue"

was delivered to me via courier.

Even though "the letter given to me with the ATM Card"  at the bank says clearly , " in case you have been issued a card earlier, the same will be cancelled" - it is very much in evidence that  UBI team can try to improve their communication - internal as well as with their customers.

Meanwhile, I have 2 ATM CARDS from Union Bank but still go across to HDFC BANK for any money

that I require.
