I hold an account with UBI for over a decade. Unlike most modern banks, it is not a glamorous bank, there is no internet banking, there is no ATM. My account is a plain old pass book system. I have to visit the bank personally to update it. I do agree that the clerks are lazy, they don't wear fancy outfits but on the other hand they don't poke with your money without your conscent like in most other foreign banks.
What I like with UBI
Simple way to check my balance. Just look at the cheque.
Personalized service. The bank officials know me & my family members. So if somebody wishes to fraudulently withdraw money from my account, it should immediately raise a doubt.
No automatic swipe of my money to some ''high interest account''. (Many foreign banks do it)
No internet banking (I don't have to worry about hackers stealing my password)
No ATM card (though now they have it) - no hassle of money not coming out of box but you debited
Cons
There are off course drawbacks. But I like to call them features!
Staffs are lazy.
While withdrawing money, they sometimes ask ''What are you going to do with all these money?''.
No net transfer etc.
Anyway, for a decade I'm happy with UBI.
