Story:

''Delightful, wicked fun'' - Promised the book's cover......I was not only deceived by this misleading statement, but nearly 5 hours of my life time was RUINED in parts....The title of the book did ring a bell that I've come across a series of novels by the same author, with similar titles such as Undead and Unapreciated, Undead and Unwed etc. though I've never read them. I didn't  have even the faintest idea that this book in question, is actually a sequel to 'Undead and Unwed' ; this vital piece of information was conveniently omitted to be mentioned anywhere (and I was miserably trapped into it !!)

As the word Undead rightly indicates, the book revolves around the story of Vampires and their 'Vampire Kingdom.'  constituted by a Queen Betsy, who is respectfully addressed to as 'Her Majesty'. She, along with the King (who gets bowled over by her looks everytime he sees her) and her 'loyal subjects', unravel the mystery which seem to have suddenly shrouded their kingdom. They join hands (literally) and corner the person who was causing havoc and killing their fellow vamps.

I should have relied on my instincts which prompted me to quit reading by the end of Chapter One. But since I had promised to myself to have more patience when I am distressed, I decided to go ahead and I just realised that my life has become less cheerful as a consequence of this pathetic book.

Let me give you an insight into the life of Vampires :

Vampires ARE humane : Queen Betsy, after having her supper (which consists of few ounces of blood sucked from some unlucky guy and what did u think she would have, pizzas??), apologetically looks at him; and she even hates what she's doing. Just that she couldn't resist her desires. Highly distasteful.

They are opulent : The activities of the vamps are funded by a Swiss Bank Account and they live in posh houses. What was this supposed to be, a joke for us to laugh out loud? I was not amused one bit.

Their looks: As I have mentioned earlier, the description given for the queen and other vamps would match the looks of the Most Beautiful Women's list in the world. I shuddered at the thought that we may not have the ability to differentiate between a normal woman from a vamp.

~Vamps too are tortured to 'death' by a serial killer and they too are faced with so many complications in their dead lives to solve.

~The Queen Vamp is a gifted one. She remains Unkilled even after repeated assaults. FYI-Vamps get killed by wooden objects poked into their chests.

I would have excused the author for any of the above misdeeds, but she has tainted motherhood in a horrendous way. Apparently, the Queen's (the Vamp Queen, I mean)   mother is a normal human being, and is not dead or undead ! She is not in the least worried that her daughter is a vamp and the reason given is  that she need not worry about her oh-so-beautiful daughter getting 'raped' or 'killed' by anyone. This was narrated in the most disgusting way, that one could imagine. If someone laughs at the so-called humour this book claims to have, they terribly need an immediate head-check.

The book ruined my innocent habit of visualizing what I read. Pray  what would be my state if I had visualised such senseless things. I expected the book to be at the least spooky, if not funny.

With such warnings in place, I am sure none would dare to get zapped by any Vamp Mojo !
