A Modern Day Heritage Hotel. Review on Umaid Mahal, Jaipur

I wanted our Jaipur trip to be special and hence before going I made loads of searches online for good hotels in Jaipur. I, for once, wanted to stay in a Heritage Hotel as the feeling is completely different and I really like the Grandeur of such Hotels. We did a lot of research online and zeroed out on the Umaid Mahal hotel (3 star).

We went through the website of the hotel and read good reviews about it online so thought of giving it a try. The booking was very simple, we called up the Hotel and had a word with Ranvijay and the booking was done. (Booking can be done through the website too, www, umaidmahal.com).We had a booking for the Royal Deluxe room for 2 nights and three days and it costed us Rs.2350/- incl taxes and breakfast. The Price is pretty decent seeing the quality of the Hotel.On reaching we met Ranvijay. He is a member of the Royal Family who owns and runs this Hotel. He was quite friendly and advised us about how we should plan our days there.

He is quite a help if you need so.The Hotel looked very nice from outside and the interiors are well taken care of. The otel gives exactly the same thing that it promises (Go through the website). Lovely combination of Modern amenities with Heritage style of living. The Room was quite good, and very well decorated. Since, I’m very fussy about cleanliness I was very happy as everything was Spik and Span. The Bathroom was good and very functional. The room even had a small balcony with small windows. The Ventilation was well taken care of, the AC does not face the bed directly and there was a separate Dressing area.

Very Functional.The Hotel has two restaurants, one at the Basement which is a Bar cum Restaurant and there is a lovely Roof Top Restaurant. The Roof Top restaurant has a Arabic touch to it and was very comforting at Night. The Breakfast served does not have a great spread but is ok. On both the days we had Indian food in the Hotel and the taste and quantity was just fine. I liked it a lot. The Hotel had also arranged a nice Disc nite and it was quite fun. It was very sweet of Ranvijay to come and invite us exclusively. You can checkout in the Hotel if they are planning to have someting like this while you are visiting.The Checking in and out formalities were also carried out quite fast and we didn’t have to wait for anything.The Hotel is located in one of the famous residential areas of Jaipur called Bani Park and was very easy to locate. Its just 1.5kms away from the MI Road and it takes just 10mins to reach the Old City. There are lots of autos near the Hotel too and is quite convenient to travel from and to there.So when thinking of visiting Jaipur, make a stay at Umaid Mahal. It’ll surely make your experience better.Take Care.
