After colouring my hair, L'oreal Elvive was a bit too expensive to buy on a regular basis, so I was quite glad when Ultra Doux brought out Fig and Rose oil shampoo/conditioner for coloured hair. It was definitely more budget friendly, and the rosy packaging was very attractive in my bathroom ! The one thing I like about Garnier products is their lovely fruity fragrances, and this one was no different. The moment I opened the bottle, the delicious fruity rose oil fragrance was like aromatherapy. Fantastic ! This was one of their best fragrances ever. The shampoo itself was thick and oily, but spread easily in the hair and didnt weigh it down. After rinsing it off, I felt my hair was a little dry. The conditoner is very light, and spread easily, but its smell was much milder. My hair felt better after using the conditioner, but was still a little on the dry side, compared to what my hair is normally. The lovely fragrance lasts for a couple of days. My hair never smelled so good ! After using it for a more than a month, I felt it didn't make my hair colour as vibrant as the L'oreal one, and my colour was fading as it would with any other normal shampoo/conditioner. Ultra Doux is a good shampoo as it uses very gentle natural detergents, and leaves hair very soft, but it doesnt improve or enhance your hair in anyway. Since my hair is dry, wavy and prone to frizz in humidity, I expect a lot more from a Shampoo. It seems best suited for people with normal hair, but certainly not for dry/very dry hair. Good product , but for me, perhaps not good enough.
