When I was in pune during night 11, I ordered some food using ubereats app. Then I started waiting and waiting but in the app it was showing an delivery executive will be assigned shortly. Then after one and half hour i.e 12: 30 in the night, I started calling their customer service contact number, after waiting for a 15 min of them checking and all they asked me to cancel the order, but I said I want the order to be delivered why should I cancel after waiting for around 1 hour 45 min. Then they said that their are no delivery executive in that area to pick up the order. So I replied that however I have waited this long I will wait till the delivery executive gets assigned. After hearing that they told me the actual truth that the restaurant was closed and argued with me that I need to cancel the order from my side, and this went on for like another 15 min that I asked the guy to transfer the call to his manager and all. Finally they said I should cancel the order or keep waiting like this. This made no sense. I felt so stupid for waiting so long for nothing and I had to sleep without eating anything.
I would say when a customer calls, inform them the truth instead of trying to fool them.
From then on I have never ordered from uberEats you guys can see the proof of screenshots I will be attaching below.
This is how they lose a valuable customer.
