What happened:


On 5th September 2015 morning I booked an Uber from Palam vihar to MG road Gurgaon.


I got the cab and reached my destination. The payment got cut from my paytm wallet. However after reaching the destination the cab driver asked me to pay him in cash. I told him that I have already paid through cash, but the driver refused to listen to that and said that he is being shown at his Uber interface that the payment for this trip is to be paid by cash. the driver refused to drop me untill I pay the cash. Finally, I had no option but pay the driver in cash for the trip Uber already detected the amount from my paytm wallet.


Did I contact Uber about the incident?:


Obviously, this was the next option in front of me. I was very hopeful that this thing will be sorted and I will get my money back after reporting the incident to Uber. But to my surprise this went completely opposite.


First surprise, Uber does not have any customer care number on which you can call and talk to them. First I checked in their website and then on google but no Uber customer care number found.


Second surprise, I found that Uber does not have any official email id to take care of complaints etc. All they have is a form on their website. Under which there are limited categories under which you can write. I selected the nearest category and put my case. After 48 hours I got a 1 liner reply from Uber.(In today's world a response after 48 hours is the worst thing a company can do to its customers). And the one liner reply was:


"Could you please more specific regarding the issue? So that I can assist you future."


I provided my trip details and my contact number in the form, using which Uber could have checked all the details regarding my trip but they did not take that pain.


Third surprise: Uber does not give any reference number to the trips. Uber names your trips as Saturday morning trip, Sunday afternoon trip etc. In the absence of any reference number of the trip, it becomes very difficult to explain that of which trip you are talking about.


Till now, I have not received any kind of reply from Uber; it has been now 5th day today. They dont have any contact number also, so it leaves me completely helpless.


There are many other surprises well which I realized. such as Uber does not send you a text SMS of driver details etc. All the details you have to see on their mobile app. So as you finish the trip, Uber deletes the mobile number of the driver. Uber systems are designed very much in favor of Uber and one gets no control and flexibility.


I have not mentioned the name of any other cab service so don;t take it as a promotional review post. This is a real incident happened with me 5 days back. Please avoid taking Uber.
