I have been using Uber for the past two years. But now a days their fares and service becoming worst. I had a very bad experience today. I have booked Uber for 2.7 kms. The fare showed as 69.70 Rs. But during mid of the journey, I received a message stating that I have pay extra 36 Rs at the end of the trip additionally. While getting down, the driver demanded 105 Rs. I asked what for I have to pay 36 Rs extra, he replied that I may have cancelled any of the trip previously and thats the reason.
If so, then I must receive the message for cancellation charge at the time of cancelling itself. But these fellows will send a message while we are in mid of the journey. This is very un professional and shame to them. When I asked that driver for a complaint number or e mail id, he replied that he doesnt have anything like that. Then I have a question that who is controlling these people and how that driver attached his vehicle with Uber? Also many times I have received a message during journey that, your fares may be higher than expected. Your driver will let you know the exact fare. Why for they are sending this message I dont know. But if they could have asked me extra during any of my previous trip, I would have boycotted these fellows long back. But today I had a very bad experience.
On top of it, their ads in TV says that we can ride in Uber for 39 Rs upto 4 kms. But often it shows 120 Rs, 70 Rs etc. As I said above I have paid 105 Rs for mere 2.7 kms !(69 rs as actual tariff+ 36 rs for unknown reason.)
So pls be careful while booking itself and confirm your tariff before boarding the car. Else you may also face an issue like me. Thank you for reading my review.
