When I saw the advertisement for this film I was taken back with enthusiasm, and laughter. The DVD preview shows a mildly elderly man sitting on the porch of his house, and saying "evening" as his house begins to lift from the ground and in the air. It was that preview that drew my interest in this motion picture.
After watching this adorable children's movie I thought it was cute. I found the combined resemblance of American actor, Spencer Tracy, and cartoon character Mr. Magoo to be very funny and charming. While "Up" is a children's movie, some of its content appeals to adults as well. "Up" is a movie that's encircled with life's many sentiments, a realistic look at the elderly, death, and the sad effects of separation. I also found it very interesting to see the noble interaction between the elderly, and a child.
In this release by Pixar and Walt Disney films there is so much visual delight and beauty to see. Like Walt Disney’s and Pixar’s award winning 2007 release of "Cars" the animation is very colorful, and its scenery is eye catching, rendered with superior artistic skill, and filled with animated aesthetics. Ed Asner who portrays the voice of Carl Fredricksen and Jordan Nagai who portrays the voice of Russell, an eight year the boy Scott and wilderness explorer display excellent vocal talent in their vocal performances.
In this story, little Carl Fredricksen enjoys his days at the movies, and watching the famous adventures of famed explorer Charles Muntz. Carl watches his hero's least darling and humiliating moment when Charles Muntz defrocked from the society of explorers and exposed as a fraud. Explorer Charles Muntz is considered a fraud because he didn't bring back a historic bird found in the South American jungle of Paradise Falls after telling the public he would find the bird, and bring it to America. After he has been strip of his membership of scoemtific explorers he vows to find the bird, and bring it back to America. Meanwhile, little Carl meets Ellie at their playhouse, an abandon house where the two children met and played. Together Car and Ellie had planned an adventure to Paradise Falls.
As time passed Carl and Ellie grew into adults, and became found of each other. Carl and Ellie married and brought the house they played in. Carl becomes a Balloon Salesman and lives happily with his wife Ellie. The two grow old together, and Ellie dies. After Carl loses his wife he decides to go on the adventure to South America Paradise Falls after he's been informed that his house will be put up for sale, and he will spending the rest of his life in a rest home.
Carl decides that's not going to happen, and go on the adventure that he and Ellie had planned. Carl uses his expertise with his balloons and cause his house to float and fly to Paradise Falls. Carl meets Russell a Cub Scout and wilderness explorer whose mission is to earn a badge of honor for assisting the elderly. The two go to Paradise Island, and meet the famed historic bird they befriend her and name her Kevin. This adventure comes with many problems when Carl and Russell encounter a group of talking dogs and the famous explorer Charles Muntz. Charles discovers that Carl, and Russell have the bird and the race against time to capture the bird comes to a chilling surprise.

"Up" is a very entertaining, and enjoyable children's movie. Its animation is executed with excellence. The animation comes with astounding graphics of art, and design. Its colorful illustrations are eye catching. "Up" offers a heart touching storyline and a heart touching portrait of the elderly, and life's many sentiments. It'sa movie that young children can learn valuable lessons of charity, and the importance of community involvement. The vocal talents of the cast are well done. Overall Pixar and Walt Disney films have done it again with another blockbuster animated film in its new release of "Up."
This is a must see children's movie.
