U Me Aur Hum - Same story. Review on U Me aur Hum

I just came back from watching "U me aur hum" to start of one thing I would like to say I only seen 2 trailers of the movie and I have heard the sountrack alot and I have  been excited about this movie because the promos where fresh and it looked very intresting, I had some expectations due to its a kajol film and I am her fan and she is my favourite actress and she is back. Ajay devgan has always been a good actor for me especially in seriouse roles.he had not yet convinced me that he was good in comedy or a romantic film. So here is my review and those where some facts of what I had expected from UMAH.

I didnt know much about the story so I will not explain it in too much details so here it goes. The movie is all about a relationship and the problems afterwards, the first half is set between a normal guy(Ajay devgan) with his friends on a cruise and falling in love with a waitress that serves him and the guest drinks(kajol). Love at first sight as you may call it. The first half is all about winning kajol over, when she failed to fall for ajay with her first glance, Ajay tries to win her over then eventully reads her diary and finds out what would be her ideal man. he finds out she always wanted a white dog, and learn salsa etc. Ajay uses all that to win her over and become her mr.right. She falls in love with him eventully and they are together but before the cruise ends he tells her that he read her diary.She gets mad and eventully they get married before the second half starts, the twist comes before the second half when kajol is wondering the streets and ajay finds out she is mental and has a illness called "Alzheimer" the second half is about how the couple cope with this problem, evan worse she is preganant and about to be a mother.

My thoughts, is this I was expecting a new fresh film but I was disapointed if anyone has ever seen the film "Notebook" then you will know what I am talking about if you have seen the film "notebook" you know right from the start what the films climax will be, the first few scenes with an older ajay and kajol and telling the story is a total let down for me as I knew what was going to happen at the end, and sorry to spoil it to you this film is not fresh and is a copy of notebook only the middle bit and minor details are changed. The film is good in parts where the comedy in the first half is really well done, I will give ajay devgan credit he has improved a hell of alot on his comedy and romantic scenes. But its his friends in the film that make the film more funny and I was waiting for scenes with him and his two friends to actully enjoy the movie. Otherwise the first half is a complete bore and nothing good was in the first half apart from some funny scenes. To sum up the first half was awful to say the least, the second half is good but not amazing. You fail to connect to ajay devgan and kajol there is something missing, its as if they try to hard and it looks all wrong and they come out over doing the romantic scenes. "You know something"."You know something" is all we here ajay devgan say and too much ghazals and poetry and quotes makes you sometimes want to pull your hair off. But it has some good moments in the movie with the baby taking a bath scene, the resturant scene which ajay is drunk and speaks his heart about leaving kajol in the asylum, and he walks out in the rain heartbroken and crying his eyes out in pain, Yes some very good moments in the film.But the film falls flat with the pace and keeping the audience interested in the movie. The songs did not help at all, the songs are pretty awful not one good track I liked from this album. As the illness goes for yes it was nicely shown of the effects that is causes but yet again you could always tell when kajal was gonna pull a "mad run". Very predictable and it drags at times, Ajay as a director does very well but I wish the script was much more new and the story did not have so much loop holes in it. Ajay devgan is a good director he did very well in parts and does a wonderful job.

The music does not connect one bit and made the film drag big time, Sahali Jaisa Saiya was the best song in the film to me, but yet again it was not a great song, so that speaks for the album of the movie. The camera and some effects are done well and the look of the movie looks nice and colourful and fresh which is good on the eyes and real eye candy. Kajol looks great in most scenes and the age factor has not kicked in at all she still looks fresh and in her prime, hope she keeps up looking good.

performances in this movie is what saves the horrible script and predictable story, acting wise Kajol Devgan does well especially in the second half as the crazy wife, and does well in the emotion scenes, just like fanaa she is in par with that performance and delivers an amazing performance. Ajay devgan is also very good in emotional and funny scenes he does really well and he should take full credit on his acting because he does score well on acting and directing. Well done ajay you did well I will not take that away from you, if only a better script and better story was out there then yes I would be very happy.

But sadly I am not fully happy and disapointed with this movie, a better soundtrack and better script was needed for this film, but ajay saab do not worry there will always be a next time and I take nothing away from you.Your a good director.but your a much better actor.But it beats Agg which is another achivment.or isit?
