Twilight is the subdued light just after sunset....i have no idea why the title of the book is twilight..the word comes in the book only once but it surely has hit at the right spot as everybody is reading it and thinking about this later...why the title is "twilight"??
I read the book after I saw the twilight trailer on television.. Robert Pattinson looking all white and sexy in a black suit...that surely was enough to get my attention towards the book. I decided to read the novel first and then watch the movie. I bought all four books of the twilight saga and started my journey into the vampire world.
The story is about Bella Swan who is a shy teenager who shifts to her father's place and joins a new school. There she meets Edward Cullen(who is a vampire) and they both fall in love with each other and start this unusual affair. It also involves the struggle that Edward has to go through so that he doesn't feed on Bella coz the smell of her blood drives him crazy.
The vampire family is "Dr. Cullen's family", they are the good looking vampires who don't age and thus they have to migrate after a few years so that they don't raise any suspicion towards themselves. They have the best bikes, cars and all the accessories. They don't burn in sun instead they get a golden glow when exposed in sun, they are vegetarian vampires and feed only on animals. Apart from all that they have all the vampire qualities. I could almost imagine Mr. Dracula turning in his grave and coming to haunt Stephenie Meyer coz she changed his whole dracula vampire beast image.
The book has 3 sequels:
The New Moon- Bella is a human being and a vulnerable target for all the vampire enemies that the Cullens have. Thus, Edward leaves Bella to keep her away from any danger. Now enters a sexier werewolf Jacob Black, he has all the qualities that Edward lacked. He is warm, more muscular, taller than Edward and so Bella is attracted towards him.But after sometime Edward comes back and then Bella leaves Jacob and goes back to Edward.
Eclipse- Definitely the best one in the whole series, the book has fights and love triangles to spice up the story. In the end of the book, Edward proposes to Bella for marriage and she says yes. It also has a fight sequence of werewolves, good vampires and bad vampires. Definitely a must read in the series.
Breaking Dawn- This is too far fetched, with Edward and Bella's daughter Renesmee's birth who is some other kind of mystical creature. Now the whole family has to protect her from everyone and so again new fights and new love stories take place. It is the thickest book of the series and a good ending to the saga.
P.S- You can watch "twilight" and "new moon" movies but definitely read "eclipse" and "breaking dawn".
It is a good read for people who want to read something entertaining and just plain and simple imagination. Also, listen to the song Vanilla Twilight-By Owl City.. awesome song..they should have put it in the movie..
