Dil tujhe diya tha rakhne ko....
Jul 24, 2009 07:50 PM 28062 Views

Mukesh, what comes in your mind when you hear his name? Right from my childhood, I am his fan, becuase I found easier to hummm his songs compared to other singers of same time. His voice was suited to many actors and for me his voice was a common man's voice, but full of pain along with melody.

I would not like to give more details about his life, that can easily be found on net at different sites. I would like to pick 20 best song sung by him and dedicate to him, his birthdays was on 22nd July. I would try to list his best but may be some of them are less popular songs.

  1. Dil tujhe diya tha rakhne ko, tune dil ko jala ke rakh diya . Film: Malhar(1951). This was one of the biggest hit film(musically) and almost all songs were on the lips of masses. But Bade armaan se rakha hai balam(duet with Lata), became more famous. Favorite song of my Babuji.

  2. Aaya hai mujhe phir yaad wo zalim, guzra jamana bachpan ka. Film: Devar(1966). I know many of us sing this song when remember our past.

  3. Chand aahen bharega, phool dil thaam lenge. Film: Phool bane angare(1963). Wow, what a way to praise beauty of mashuka. He has many songs on similar situation, but this one is close to my heart.

  4. Chall akela chal akela tera mela peechhe chhota rahi. Film: Sambandh(1969). Strength for loner and discarded people. Jab logon par se bharosa uth jaata hai to ye geet apne aap zubaan par aa jata hai.

  5. Chhoti se ye zindgani re chaar din ki jawani teri. Film: Aah(1953). Truth of life can be seen in this song. He also acted in this song and gave playback for himself.

  6. Duniya banane wale kya tere mann ein samayi. Film: Teesri kasam(1969). Raj Kapoor and Mukesh combination at his best. A confused man can always ask this question to almighty. Listen the dialogue in betweenthe song.

  7. Hum aaj kahin dil kho baithe. Film: Andaz(1949). Kisi ko dekha, pyar ho gaya aur kah na paye to is geet ke dwara bhi kaha ja sakta hai.

  8. Jeena yahan marna yahan. Film: Mera naam joker(1970). Jis tarah logon ko ye film samjhne mein samay laga, waise hi is gaane ko bi smajhne mein waqt laga. Jeevan ki sachchayee se bharpur ye gana ye kehta hai ki sab kuch yahin hai isi duniya mein.

  9. Jyot se jyot jalate chalo, prem ki ganga bahate chalo. Film: Sant Gyaneshwar(1964). Do I need to explain this song, very straight forward message for today's time and people. Sabhi gyani jano ne yahi to kaha hai.

  10. Kisi ki muskurahaton pe ho nisaar. Film: Anari(1959). I wont say ki this was less popular, but could not stop myself from adding to list because of message in this song for all mastmaula aadmi.

  11. Oh re taal mile nadi ke jal se, nadi mile sagar se. Film: Anokhi raat(1968). Humein bhi to ek taal ki tarah zindagi ki nadimein bah kar uparwale ki sagar mein milna hai ek din.

  12. Sab kuchh seekha humne na seekhi hoshiyari. Film: Anari(1959). Title song of the movie and fits completely on myself.

  13. Sajan re jhooth mat bolo khuda ke paas jana hai. Film: Teesri kasam(1969). Please remember this song always, a teaching for younger generation.

  14. Socha tha pyar hum na karenege, surat pe yaar hum na marenge. Film: Bluff master(1963). Almost all young people says this in begining, but fail to keep promises of not falling in love.

  15. Tere pyar ko is tarah se bhoolana na dil chahta hai na hum chahte hain. Film: Maine jeena seekh liya(1959). A beautiful song, agar nahi suna hai ti sun ke dekho phie comment karna.

Video Link: Not available

  1. Ye kaun chitrakar hai ye kaun chitrakar. Film: Boond jo ban gaye moti(1967). Beautiful description of God's creation - Our beautiful earth.

  2. Bina badra ke bijuriya kaisechamke. Film: Bandhan(1970). Barsaat ke mausam mein ye gaana to bas jhooma deta hai. Awadhi and Bhojpuri words are used and that makes it more beautiful.

  3. Chaand ko kya maloom chahta hai usey koi chakor. Film: Laal bangla(1966). Ek aur gana chhupe hue pyar ka izhaar karne wala.

  4. Cheen(China) O Arab hamara, Hindustan hamara. Film: Phir subah hogi(1958). A serious song, muflisi ki haalat aur ek beghar berozgar aadmi ka gana, kya ye aaj ke samay mein fit nahi baithta?

  5. Bas yahi apraadh main har baar karta hoon, aadmi hoon aadmi se pyar karta hoon. Film: Pehchan(1970). Ye gaan kisi aur sense mei gaya tha, But can be fit for todays GAy culture, atleast the satrting lines, ha ha ha ha ha.

I have not listed any duets, for that another review can be written. Enjoy the songs.
