_

On looking back, looks like I've tried too much within 8000 characters. And as I can write on and on about music, am gonna start keeping my recommendations very specific.I'm starting with Lead guitarists - Listing 7'must listen' guitarists. These are guitarists I feel have the mix of a high degree of innovation and excellent guitar plaiying skills, of the guitarists I have listened to. Here goes.Steve MorsePossibly the guitarist with the most complex compositions. Played for Dixie Dregs and in case the name sounds familiar, he was the lead guitarist for Deep Purple's Bangalore tour. Inspired many of the next generation guitarists(Sach, Petrucci etc) May not sound the most appealing at first, but another must for guitar fans.Steve VaiThe true guitar showman! Stands out for his highly skillful yet distortion free guitaring - at the same time pulling off acrobatics on stage, making the guitar talk et al. Check out anything from his concerts with Frank Zappa, his work with DLR, Whitesnake to all his numerous solo works albums. Jeff BeckThe highly talented, eccentric and erratic guitarist. has tried his hand at almost everything from techno fusion to rock - but will always be known as the Guitar legend who lead the Jeff Beck Band(Including Rod Stewart, Simon Phillips etc) as well as'Yardbirds'. Probably been voted most frequently as'best guitarist' in guitarist polls. Personal favourites -'Beck's Bolero', 'Rice Pudding', 'And the train keeps rolling'.Eddie Van HalenA true guitar great. One of the most'famous' guitarists of all - combining breakthrough guitarwork(two handed tapping), extreme skill and showmanship while being the frontman of one of the most successful Arena Rock bands(of all types of music!). Must hears - Erruptions, 5150 live, Solo improvisations, ok, any of his Van Halen work!John PetrucciIn my opinion, the most technicallly proficient guitar player of em all. Can play the most complex notes at blinding speeds - its amazing what this guitarist can do, depite being limited to playing not the very best guitar compositions. Not a showman by any means, to truly appreciate his guitar work, need to see him play. Check out'Lie', 'Home', 'Overture 1928'(All by Dream T), the Liquid Tension Experiment albums. John McLaughinThe highly innovative, frontman of'Mahavishnu Orchestra' - his lead solos must be heard to be believed. Stands out for his guitar compositions and innovations rather than his blinding speed. And with his sheer skill, can make his more famous contemporaries sound ordinary! A definite must hear. Personal favourite -'Meeting of the spirits'. Also check out the album'The Inner Mounting Flame'.Jimmy PageThe master guitarist! One of the most idolized(after Hendrix), most innovative, complex guitarists will amazing compositions with Led Zeppelin while at the same time known for his amazing guitaring technique. While at the same time, heading one of the most legendary bands of all times(Led Zeppelin). Stairway to Heaven is considered one of the most influential and revolutionary pieces of guitaring, while songs like'In my time of dying', 'when the levee breaks', 'Song remains the same' . and all his Led Zep work - AMAZING! Haven't heard'em? You must be kidding!Honorable Mentions:Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix, Clapton, Satriani, Knoppfler, Lifeson, Gilmour, Townshend . Simply too many!-Coming up: Drummers, Bassists, Keyboard players, Vocalists.
