Without Pyaar, Ishq, Mohhabat and Love, Bollywood Industry would have been destroyed long back. There are hardly any movies which does not have this theme in it. Even if the theme is different they try to add atleast one love song in it and classic example one can see is movie SARFAROSH, where Sonali Bandre seems to appear on screen only during songs and when the director wants to add some masala to the serious movie. Not only that, Bollywood has potrayed India as land of love and many movies are based on Laila Maju theme. Be whatever be the reasons for making a movie, be it masala or serious, be it a comedy or horror, Bollywood never fails to add Pyaar Bhare Nagme in it.

Its very hard to choose just 20 love songs when you have to choose from huge collection of movies, music directors, singers and lyricist. Not only that, Bollywood is around more than 50 years and just choosing 20 songs its like searching needle in a haystack. But still I have tried my best to present my twenty best love songs: ten new and ten old.

Here it goes, Naye Pyaar Bhare Nagme

1) Do Dil Mil Rahe Hai, Magar Chupke Chupke(Pardes)

Very very slow melodious song and in background one can listen mostly guitar being played. Best line is Aaise Bhole Bankar Hai Baithe, Jaise Koi Baat Nahin, Sab Kuch Nazar Aa Raha Hai, Din Hai Ye Raat Nahin. Song is very well sung by Kumar Sanu and Music has been given by Nadeem Shravan

2) Pahela Nasha, Pehela Khumaar(Jo Jeeta Wohi Sinkandar)

Not only this song is great, but has been picturised very well. Song starts with Chahe Tum Kuch Na Kaho, Maine Sun Liya, Ke Satthi Pyaar Ka, Muje Chun Liya, Meine Sun Liya. Song has been sung by Udit Narayan and Sadna Sargam and music has been given by Jatin Lalit.

3) O Rey Chori, Maan Bhi Le Baat Mori(Lagaan)

This song is sung by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Vasundhara Das. This song has both Hindi and English Lyrics in the song. English Lyrics in the song goes like this My Heart: It Speaks Thousand Words,  I Feel Eternal Bliss, Roses Pout, Their Scarlet Mouths, Like Offering A Kiss, No Drop Of Rain, No Glowing Flame, Has Ever Been So Pure, If Being In Love, Feels Like This, Then I Am In Love For Sure. Music has been provided by one of the greatest musician A.R. Rahman and Lyrics has been written by none other than Javed Akhtar.

4) Kuch Na Khaho, Kuch Bhi Na Kaho(1942 Love Story)

This movie did not do that well on the Box office and it deals with independence struggle on one side and love story on other. Both Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala has done great job in this movie and my personal favorite song from this movie is this one. Kuch Na Khaho, Kuch Bhi Na Kaho, Kya Kehna Hai, Kya Sunna Hai, Mujko Pata Hai, Tumko Pata Hai. This song is sung by none other than Lata Mangeshkar and music has been provided by R. D. Burman.

5) Ishq Bina Kya Marna Yaara, Ishq Bina Kya Jeena(Taal)

Taal album has best songs and few of them are romantic songs but this one is my favorite. The lines that touched my heart from this song is Tumne Ishq Ka Naam Suna Hai, Humne Ishq Kiya Hai. Lyrics has been well written by Anand Bakshi and music has been given by A. R. Rehman.

6) Dil Diwana, Bin Sajna Ke Maane Na(Maine Pyaar Kiya)

I still remember when I was in 9th grade and this music album had come out. It was a major hit among teenagers and I myself has watched this movie more than 50 times he he he, . Also, songs became very famous and I personally liked this one. It has three versions, male version has been sung by S. P. Balasubramanium, female version has been sung by Lata Mangeshkar and third one is just  instrumental. Lyrics has been written by Asad Bhopali and music has been given by Ram Lakshman.

7) Gazab Ka Hai Din, Soocho Jara(Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak)

This is one of the best love movie ever made in the industry. Song has been picturised on Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla when they were lost in the jungle. Best part of the lyrics are Dekh Lo, Hum Ko Kareeb Se, Aaaj Hum Mile Hai Naseeb Se. Music has been given by Anand Milind and sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.

8) Tu Mere Saamne, Mein Tere Samne(Darr)

This movie along with Baazigar brought Shah Rukh Khan into limelight.Music has been given by Sri Hari and Lyrics has been written by Anand Bakshi. Song is sung none other than Lataji and again Udit Narayan. Best part of the lyrics are Toot Gayee Toot Ke Mein Choor Ho Gayee, Tere Jid Se Mazboor Ho Gayee.

9) Aaye Mere Humsafar, Aaye Meri Jaanejaah(Baazigar)

This song has been picturised on Shipa Sheety and Shah Rukh Khan. Music is provided by Anu Malik and Lyrics are by Gauhar Kanpuri. This song has been sung by Vinod Rathod and Alka Yagnik. Part of the Lyrics I like Pagal To Hum Ho Gayee, Ban Jayeegi Dastan, Aahista Bolo Sanam, Sun Lega Sarah Jahan

10) Kabhi Mein Kahoon, Kabhi Tum Kahoo(Lamhe)

This movie flopped as people were not able to digest the love story of elderly Anil Kapoor with young Sri Devi. Personally I liked the movie because I think love does not have age, caste, religion boundaries. Music has been provided by Shiv Hari. This song has been sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Hariharan. Best part of the lyrics Dard E Dil, Dard E Jigar, Hum Sahete Rahe, Ek Dusre Se Yahi Kehete Rahe.

I know there are other songs which are also good, but I had to stick to only 10 in the catagory. For old songs I will just mention song and movie.

1) Roop Tera Mastana, Pyaar Mera Deewana, Bhool Koi Na Humse Hojayee(Aaradhna)

Lyrics:Anand Bakshi, Singer: Kishore Kumar, Music: SD Burman

2) Gulabi Aankhen, Jo Teri Dekhi, Sharabi Ye Dil Ho Gaya(The Train)

10) Gata Rahen Mera Dil, Tu Hi Meri Manzil(Guide)
