Music says it all. Review on Twenty Best Hindi Romantic Songs

What better way than to express love by breaking into a song.

However it works best only when you are in a movie and you have the best of the playbakc singers dubbing for you. In real life it is rather awkward to sing and dance around trees at the same time to convey to your girl friend(or vice versa) how much you love her.

So if you can't sing please do present a cassette or cd - it works equally well. In fact at one time the best gift to give especially on Valentines was a cassette recorded with famous love songs. It works for all occassions. For nothing says'I love you' as crooning'I love you'.

And hindi songs say it equally well as english soft numbers.

One of my earliest favourite love songs would be Dilbar mere kab tak mujhe from Satte Pe Satta. You have to hear the entire song and the lyrics are really beautiful and of course meaningful.

Then there is everyone's favourite Pehla Nasha from Jo JEeta Wohi Sikander. This song is even good to watch. The way it is picturised gives you dreamy eyes as well.

Aamir Khan's film QSQT had some great love songs as well but my most favourite is Ae mere humsafar, ik zara intezaar, sun sadai de rahi hai manzil pyaar ki.

While on this category another R D favourite that comes to mind is Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko nazar nahin churana sanam, badal ke meri tum zindagani - kahin badal na jaana sanam. One can only wonder what is the lyricists inspiration while penning such lines.

Baahon mein chale aaooo is one song that I don't know where the original belongs to but the remix sure has worked its magic and served the purpose of getting the now-generation familiar with long-lost songs.

Also the Rajesh Khanna-Sharmila Tagore seductive number shot in one go is a must-hear in the list of love songs. Roop tera mastana pyaar mera deewana

Coming to romances in the new millenium - one of recent favourites and actually the top on my list is Suraj hua maddham chaand jalne laga. The best thing about this song is that it has a sad version to it as well and the lyrics are beautifully played around with.

Uljhano ko de diya hai tumne jo mera pata to aa gayi yahan pe dekho leke woh betabiyan is another of Sandesh Shandaliya's compositions for the film Rules Pyaar Ka superhit Formula that is pretty lovely.

Abhishek Bachchan might have not had a hit film to his credit but he sure has several hit songs in his kitty. The one love song that comes to mind is the one Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai Yeh hawayein zulfon mein teri. If you haven't heard it, trust me it is a great love track.

Kal Ho Na Ho's Kuch ot hua hai is probably the most ignored song in the film promos - because obviously it is not picturised on King Khan. But in the entire album this is the best song and of course it is the only love song in the cutest sense of the word.

Jagjit Singh has rendered some typically soft tracks for films lately - two of my favourites being Koi fariyaad teri dil mein dabi ho jaise from Tum Bin and Aisi Aankhen Nahin Dekhi Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai.

Expressing love in a new fashion was Bipasha Basu crooning Tere sang ek simple si coffee bhi kick deti hai.

Going back to simple melodies . Hariharan singing Jhoka hawa ka aaj bhi zulfon udata hoga naa is one song I have heard and heard over and over again.

Another of Hariharan's favourite is Chanda re chanda re kabhi to zameen pe aa bethenge baatein karenge. tujhko aate idhar laaj aaye agar to odh ke aaja tu badal ghane and to add to it Prabhudeva dancing innovatively on it.wow.

Lagan lagi man se man ki lagan from Paap is a masterpiece. Wish more film music was made on these lines.
