In continuation to my previous review on the top twenty hindi love songs……. Here are the other ten, but mind you…. They are in no way any less than all the previous ten! So, here goes….

  1. NA TUM HAMEIN JAANO….(Baat Ek Raat Ki):  This song’s lyrics are really innocent and sweet…. that’s the main reason the song appeals to me. But the music’s also really nice and slow……. Can set up a perfect ambience for a first date or something!

Naa tum hamein jaano, naa hum tumhein jaane,

Magar lagta, hai kuch aisa, mera humdum….

Mil gaya!

  1. AAO NAA….(Kyon Ho Gaya Naa): This song has very a mystic feel about it…. Really seems as if you’ve been transported to stuff of your dreams! And may I add that it is the only saving grace of the movie!

Goonji siha… sari fiza,

Jaise bajti ho shehnaiyan,

Leherati hai jaise fiza,

Gungunati hai tanahaiyan….

  1. AA CHAL KE TUJHE….(?): This is one song I love humming all the time…. just one of those really simple but touching compositions. I love quoting the lines ‘jahan gham bhi na ho, aanson bhi naa ho, bas pyar hi pyar pale’ in those typical slam book questions like ‘what do you percieve love as?’ and the like….

Aa chal ke tujhe, main leke chalon,

Ek aise gagan ke tale,

Jahan gham bhi naa ho, aanson bhi naa ho,

Bas pyar hi pyar pale…….

  1. EK LADKI KO DEKHA……(1942- A Love Story): I’m in love with this movie man! Just love the songs…. And this is no exception! Javed Akhtar’s lyrics have to be the best in bollywood… or atleast one of the best…. And Manisha and Anil Kapoor look too cute together!

Ek ladki ko dekha to aisa laga…

Jaise khilta gulab, Jaise shayar ka khwab,

Jaise Ujli kiran, Jaise…….

Jaise mandir mein ho ek jalto diya… hoooo…

  1. MERE SAAMNE WALI KHIDKI…….(Padosan): This might not be the quintessential favourite ‘love’ song…… but its cute all the same! The concept of mehmood trying to woo his beloved with someone else singing the song for him is also really funny! Kishore is as always…. brilliant and incomparable!

Mere saamne wali khidki mein,

Ek chand ka tukda reheta hai,

Afsos yeh hai ke who humse,

Kuch ukhda ukhda rehta hai!

  1. MAIN KOI AISA GEET GAAOON….(Yes Boss): This song just had to be a part of my list…. not for too many romantic reasons, but just because ever since 4th std. if someone asks me to name my fave. Song…. I’ve always named this one! But if you listen to the lyrics… the idea of someone doing anything you say  for you is romantic. And Shah Rukh’s antics are CUTE….

Main koi aisa geet gaaon,

Ki aarzoo jagoon, agar tum kaho

Tumko bulaoon, ki palkein bichchaoon,

Kadam tum jahan jahan rakho….

  1. EK PYAR KA NAGMA……(Shor): Another one of my favourites…. Makes you feel as if there is no one in this world except you…… and Him!

Ek pyar ka nagma hai,

Maujon ki ravani hai,

Zindagi aur kuch bhi nahin,

Teri meri kahani hai……

  1. HUM HAIN IS PAL YAHAN….(Kisna): This is my favourite from the very latest! It makes my heart really heavy with sadness…. But then, the identity of a good song is one which can dictate your emotions, ain’t it?!

Hum hain is pal yahan,

Jane ho kal kahan….

Hum mile naa mile, hum rahe naa rahe,

Rahengi sada yahan…. Pyar ki yeh daastan,

Sunenge sada jise… yeh zameen yeh aasman!

  1. PAL PAL DIL KE PAAS….(Blackmail): This is carismatic Kishore at his best! You name the most romantic song of all time…. And this has to be a part of the list…. For its sheer purity!

Pal pal dil ke paas, tum rehti ho,

Jeevan meethi pyaas, yeh kehti ho,

Pal pal dil ke paas….

  1. And I’ve the privilege of ending the list with another song that I can listen to about a million times and still not get tired of listening…… and that is….

TU HAI AASMAN MEIN….(Jhankaar Beats): The song starts as one meant for God but then slowly dissolves into the respective love stories of the leads! I’ll always remember the way Rahul Bose plays the drums just before the line’…. Tu aashiqui hai’!

Tu hai aasman mein, teri yeh zameen hai,

Tu jo hai, to sub kuch hai… na koi kami hai,

Tu hi dil hai, tu hi jaan bhi hai, tu khushi hai, aasara bhi hai,

Teri chahat zindagi hai, tu muhabbat…. Tu aashiqui hai!

The previous ten were:

  1. ABHI NAA JAO CHHOD KAR………(Hum Dono):

  2. KUCH TO HUA HAI……….(Kal ho naa ho):

  3. KHWAB HO TUM ….(Teen Devian):

  4. SURAJ HUA MADHAM….(Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham):

  5. CHOOKAR MERE MAN KO…….(Yarana):

  6. JEENE KE ISHARE…….(Phir Milenge):

  7. HONTHON SE CHOO LO TUM….( A gazal?):

  8. AANKHEN BHI HOTI HAIN….(Haasil):

  9. BADE ACHCHE LAGTE HAIN….(?):

  10. KUCH NAA KAHO….(1942- A love story):
