Top 20 Bikes (a review with a difference): Part 1
Aug 09, 2004 05:24 PM 4710 Views
(Updated Aug 11, 2004 01:06 PM)

Hi guys this is my first review and I have decided to write it down on Bikes.

This is not going to be any normal review i.e. telling the performance & styling of the Bikes in real sense, I am going to compare it with gals and may be celebrities. Oh com’on bike is female from all time not the male as we say in Hindi  “maine bike leli hai” * and not *“maine bike le liya hai”. So, it’s definitely not a male(oops slogan changed) but guy who ride that bike is definitely a male. So start of with so called definitely male bike.

Pulsar 180 DTSI(Definitely male):

I agree power wise there is no comparison. But styling wise it looks more like “Pamela Anderson”, cuz there is more flesh in front then on back. And nobody wants to own thing like ‘pam’ but one might feel good riding other’s. It also looks like a toothpaste tube squeezed half from back. I think people might agree with me that there has to be more flesh at back too. And 2 parking light bulbs above main headlight is really annoying in new headlight.

Styling: 6/10; Power: 10/10; Performance(mileage & maintenance): 6/10

Bajaj Eliminator:

Being a first cruiser bike in India it’s really different from every one. It’s just price factor otherwise most of us would have gone for it. However they are going to re-launch it with low price tag but with indigenous parts, lets see what they come up with. But by styling she is most adorable “Aishwarya Rai” with her looks, comfort, etc.

Styling: 8/10; Power: 8/10; Performance: 5/10

Karizma(Jet Set Go):

Oh god it’s a real beauty. I know its nothing in comparison with even low end SBK. But still guys its first Indian bike having that styling. It really makes you turn your heads towards her until it disappears.  And I think she look like real head turner “Kate Winslet”.

Styling: 9/10; Power: 8/10; Performance: 5/10

Pulsar 150 DTSI:

Same thing goes with this in terms of styling. But in power it surely got a heavy competitor. Cool guess, ya its CBZ. And people who speaks that mileage is good, please excuse me. From 80% of Pulsar owner, I heard it gives 40-55 means maximum 55. Which brings it around the mileage of CBZ. And CBZ got many more things that I will explain in its own section.

Styling: 6/10; Power: 8/10; Performance: 7/10

CBZ:

I must say, every time they put something new in Hero Honda(HH) bikes, you see lot of them on road very soon. Now about CBZ it’s all time favorites for styling, comfort, power, etc. I agree with you people, it has lost its popularity just because of performance(mileage) & maintenance. But believe me guys I know few people who never regrets in these terms because their handling is very good. So, I think its like our all time favorite “Madhuri”. Who will give you every joy & happiness when u treat her good and when you turn bad on her you will get something worse in return.

Styling: 9/10; Power: 8/10; Performance: 6/10

Kinetic Hyosung Aquila

That’s the charm of the Aquila, once you get on, you’re hooked. The Aquila represents a new style for a new age - that of the touring biker.  In spite of being shrouded by the tank, chromed plastic air filter covers and oil cooler, the big vee twin lump nestling under is a thing of beauty. The pronounced ribbing and buffed metal parts lend credence to the cruiser image. Even the twin exhaust pipes, one for each cylinder, snaking towards the rear to culminate in the reverse cone styled tail pipes add to the aura. Riding her make one feel like he is on top of the world. So, she is the legend reborn none other than “Marilyn Monroe”.

Styling: 9/10; Power: 9/10; Performance: 5/10

Fiero F2/FX:

This bike has really improved in every sense, whether it’s styling, power, comfort, etc. I personally like FX more than F2. Those shining meters and sleek body really remind me the charm of  “Catherine Zeta Zones”(FX); oh boy she is really hot. However F2 is also good but FX is far better in styling and comfort, which I think is the only difference between two.

Styling: 7/10; Power: 8/10; Performance: 7/10  (F2)

Styling: 9/10; Power: 8/10; Performance: 7/10  (FX)

Kinetic Laser:

When I first saw this bike its seems bit old but when I asked the owner, he told me that he just got it yesterday. I was amazed that the bike he bought yesterday is looking like he got it a month back. Really guys styling is so rough, its like someone has got modified it by some local auto mechanic.  So she seems “Bipasha(Bipps)” to me.

Styling: 4/10; Power: 7/10; Performance: 6/10

So you can go for your personal interest of styling, power, performance.

Hey as this review is for bikes in range of 150cc-250cc. I might come up with review of bikes in range 100cc-150cc; it depends on how much u like this review.
