We did it…..
We just did it….
Friends, our youngsters did the magic for India….
While 4 balls remaining, Pakistan needed 6 runs to win where India needed a wicket or restrict Pakistan to 4 runs….
We just took the wicket and took the cup home!!!
Here is the young team which boosted the morale of millions of Indian!!!
This year we saw a series of sports films released in Bollywood with Chak De India leading the chart and DDD Goal as the next big attraction… Lagaan of course influenced the Indian pride for sure. However, now Chak De is one film which the nation carries with its heart to the sports field…What better evidence we need than King Khan (Shahrukh Khan) personally came down to congratulate the winning team.
Almost all Indian Channels were filled with Chak De music…fire works and songs and dances…where the young super hero follows Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan to bare his chest…a better Ganguly in the making...
The super trio who witness many Indian glory at home and abroad sit by side benches where the young super heroes steel the show and hearts all around…
Who is the real superhero of 2007 20:20 world cup championship?
Is it Yuvaraj Singh? Whose solid batting and perfect fielding which made the game India's way in crucial games?
Is it Irfan Pathan who took the man of the match award in the final? Giving away only 16 runs in 4 overs?
Is it Gautam Gambir who stood as a machine and scored 75 runs out of 157 in the final?
Is it Shreeshant whose 4 overs roped the mighty Australians?
Is it RP Singwho shattered many opening batsman including the final?
Is it Rohit Sharma who hit 30 from 16 balls (14 in the last over).
Is it J Sharma who took the final cruicial wicket?
Or is it the Captain himself, Mahendra Sing Dhoni who shows lot of calm even when the tension was on its highest and won the psychological game first and the cup second.
The fact is that the younger team shown a lot of courage and will to stand strong in the difficult situations and challenged. It is Team India and it's team work and spirit which won.
The moral support from across India worked for it, but all Merry belongs to the players who delivered what is required in the right time in field.
Being an Indian I share the joy in the success and wish the success will continue in India's way!!!
When 100 meter race is considered as the race to find out the best runner, 20:20 cricket is the new favorite of the audience and I am sure this success will redefine the one day cricket and even test cricket.
The 20:20 game of course belongs to the batsman where they are compelled to hit and score in almost all balls. However, the key to success in 20:20 cricket lies with the bowlers where 10 dot balls can change the entire scenario.
I consider the 20:20 cricket is a fight of nerves. A psychological battle. The main trick lies in pumping the adrenaline to activate our best of energy at the same time remain in our cool. Getting emotional is almost a must both in accumulating totals and in challenging totals. However, our ability to hold the balance to make the best use of available opportunity taking some risks where not taking suicidal risks.
Not affected by scandals and gimmicks by opponents…the game is a perfect test of ability of mind and youthfulness and happy to see that Team India took the glory hitting the right shots in the right time to make us all proud!!!
While the game is not in the like of veterans like Sunil Gavasker, it is very much in the liking of young bloods which we are producing in abundance.
I am not happy with the first round matches of this world cup. Only limiting the initial round between 3 and getting one out become more dangerous especially when rain affects the game. Otherwise from the Quarter onwards the game format is fine. I told this when India went out of the world cup as well. It was not right and in this game too we were just gets in with a tie breaker.
Having said all, the day belongs to Indians and not the right time to complain and don't take away any glory from the success and celebrate the success to encourage futures successes!!!!
