The software is very impressive. Let me begin by saying, that the software does not take a lot of Hard Disk memory space. If I remember correctly, then the number of MB's of memory that the program occupies, is in the low double digits. You need not purchase the program, to find out whether you like it or not. There is a trial period, for you to find out about that, when most of the features of the program can be sampled, without restrictions.
The program comes with two interfaces, the TuneUp Utilities 2010 interface, and the One Click Maintanence interface. The TuneUp Utilities interface has four sub-interfaces, which are: Maintain System, Increase Performance, Fix Problems, and Customize Windows, respectively, from left to right of the main interface. There is nothing that one cannot control in the PC, from the main interface, including editing the registry. The One Click Maintenance interface(different from the TuneUp Utilities 2010 interface) does what every other similar program to TuneUp Utilities 2010 does, for example, it cleans the registry, defragments the registry, removes broken shortcuts, gains disk space, optimises system startup and shut down, and defragments the Hard Disks.
But, it does this with one click of the mouse, or at the most, in two clicks. Unless the Hard Disks need to be defragmented, One Click Maintenance is done instantaneously. One can tailor how one would like Windows to behave from the program TuneUp Utilities 2010.
Now, to what I like and dislike about the program. The greatest boon, is that the program acts like an internet accelerator. Previously, when I did not use this program, my speed was more than what my BSNL plan promised. I got 32 kBps. After using TuneUp Utilities, the speed went up to 52 kBps. My authorised speed was the regular broadband speed, then. Now, I have changed my plan, and I can get 5MbPs speed, using this program. Anyone can test the veracity of my statement, or whether it pertains to them, by using the free trial of the program. What I like further, is the mode called 'Turbo Mode', which can be activated, by pressing the virtual Turbo Mode button. When Turbo Mode is switched on, it optimises the performance of the program running, and puts to sleep, other programs, so that they do not interfere with the running of the program mentioned. When Turbo Mode is switched off, then all the background programs come on again.
My main problem with the program, is that the interface of TuneUp Utilities 2010 is not very intuitive. If you want to change the way, that Windows functions, then you have to explore the interface a bit. After a considerable time, if you do this rarely, this becomes easy. This program is more expensive than other similar programs, but the money is well spent. The cost of the program is about Rs 2700.
I would advise, that everyone should purchase this software, or the latest version, which is supposed to be even better.
