Tubelight inspired by Hollywood film Little Boy directed by Alejandro Monteverde, is told with a fable like simplicity, set in Jagatpur in Kumaon District and in the back drop of the 1962 India and china war written and directed by Kabir Khan.
Plot- Tubelight is a entertaing darma set in a small town in the hills of northern india and tells the story of men's love for his family and his unshakable belief in himself. Laxman(Salman Khan) lives with his younger brother bharat(Sohail Khan)
The two have no other family and are inseparable. Laxman's world comes crashing down, when war breaks out and Bharat gets draffeted into army. A helpless Bharat leaves a devastated Laxman behind. Seeing the carnage around him and worried for his brother, Laxman decided he must stop this conflict and get his brother back
Performance- Salman khan laugh and cries unconsciously showing his audience the less seen side of his macho side image. He can not move mountains with his performance but he tried hard to keep the faith alive. Slman Khan puts a nice performance but this is surely not one of he best.
Music- Jullius packiam and pritam scored the music of the flim. Songs of the movie are good. I felt so many songs were not necessary for the film which only extended the run time.
Cinematography- Salman plays a innocent and vulnerable character for the first time in his career and nails it. There is no action in the film but he delivers a sentimental kick straight to the heart.
