Triund is a good casual trekking opportunity. Perfect for couples and young/middle aged people seeking mild adventure with less straneous activity. Yeah it doesnt disappoint you. Your nearly 18 km trek starts from Mcleodganj which is situated 7 km away from Dharmashala town. One can start their journey early in the morning so that they can reach on top comfortably within 4-5 hours,if you wish to return back by same day. You need not to carry much as you get shops at regular intervals during your trekking. you can enjoy scenic beauty throughout your climb.If you wish to camp at night perfect thing would be to leave by 1400h, reach on top change over and enjoy the scenic paradise when there's still sun shining,during night you can enjoy the stargazing which is tremendously great feeling. You can hire Tent which are readily available with the shop keeper. Things are costly but worth spending for.
Safety: safety is not an issue as locals are very friendly and supportive.during our two days of stay we didnt encounter any wild animals which we were told by our taxi driver.
Accessibility: you can comfortably take a cab and reach the starting point of trek both from Dharmashala or Mcleodganj.
