I usually get my getz prime serviced at Belgaum, after 3yrs I got it serviced at Trident Hyundia Hosur road.
Though I read a lot of bad reviews and heard personal bad experiences from my friends and colleagues, I had no choice but get it serviced in Bangalore as I wouldn't be going to Belgaum until next 3 months.
It was my last paid service in the 3rd yr extended warranty. Since I had no problem all these years I decided not to get the warranty extended upto 5th year. But within 2 moths after service, for the first time the car had starting problem and after 2 days it did not start at all.
When contacted to Hosur service station they asked me to take the vehicle to their branch at Jakkasandra which is close to my home (I was not aware of this before). There they diagonized and said that the starter is damaged and needs to be replaced which costed me Rs 5600/-.
I found out this is a common problem for Santro cars too. However I found on net that the life of a starter is average 10yrs. I argued that the problem was not reported to me within the warranty period to avoid the free replacement from their end.
They gave a number of silly reasons that such problem cannot be identified and electrical parts can get damaged any time without warning or symptoms. They did not agree to get the warranty to be extended since it had expired 2 months back.
After another month the roof light is not working and was told that the switch needs to be replaced which costs Rs1500/-. Its my bad luck, Now I think that I shouldn't have given the car to be serviced at Trident ever.
I partly blame the company for having fitted poor parts which they know will wear out after 3yrs (so provide extended warranty only up to 3 years initially) and part to service stations who I think are aware of such problems and don't report to owners while in warranty period.
This is really nasty way of doing business.
I don't know what else is in store for me. I love my car I take a lot of care but it's disheartening when such things happen even after taking so much care, just because the people in business who sell and service aim to only make money and dam care about customer satisfaction.
