As many of you know, I like to travel a lot. I fly at least once every two months, whether it's planned or not. I seem to personify the word ''nomad.'' My friends - and the post office - have a tough time keeping track of me.

Handling my flight itineraries has become a bit of a hassle. I have to surf the net, call airlines and annoy my travel agent to get the best fares. Usually, I try CheapTickets.com, LowestFare.com and, of course, Travelocity. Of all of these search engines, Travelocity has been the biggest thorn in my side!

I have tried to use Travelocity for 4 separate trips. Each time I try to book a flight, the computer crashes. No, it's not the computer I'm on-- I've used several different computers in order to avoid them crashing. No, it's not the web browser - I've used several different browsers to determine the problem. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck figuring it out.

Today, I tried to book a flight from New York to Alaska for a mere $405. FOUR HUNDRED AND FIVE DOLLARS!! Do you have any idea of how great that is?? So, I punched in all of my information, and BAM! The computer crashes. I reboot the computer, and start all over again. The fare is still a mere $405. I get all of the info in once again, and it crashes. I sprint to a friend's house to do it, and that computer freaks out. I come home and try the same itinerary again. This time, the fare is up to $471. Okay, that's fine. Guess what? CRASH! I tried to go to the library, but it was closed.

Two hours later, the fares sky-rocketed to over $800. I tried and tried to call customer service, but I was on hold for ages. Yes, I understand that the holidays are a very difficult time for traveling and such, but this is ridiculous. My fare doubled in price, and no one was available to answer my questions. Argh.

This is just the culmination of my aggravations over the past, I suppose. Maybe I shouldn't have just skipped off to New York. Maybe I'm not meant to go back to Alaska. Maybe I just shouldn't fly anymore.

Do I recommend this service to anyone? Well, judged on the reviews of others, which have been primarily good reviews, I would. Based on my experience, I wouldn't. So, I recommend that you try it once and decide for yourself.

I'm so annoyed. Someone remind me not to become a travel agent.
