Last year in the month of December we made a plan to go to Kerala. I started looking at the various travel offers which were given by various travel agents on their Web Sites. Then I came across a beautiful travel offering by TRAVEL GURU so called up Travel Guru to check for the packages. My call was received by one Mr. Jayesh Khaire -
Vacation Executive. He gave me the package 2N/3D for 1 Superior Cottage, Golden Waters, Kumarakom & 1N/2D for 1 Deluxe Tree House, Carmelia Haven The Plantation Resort, Thekkady and I confirmed the same and I got the confirmation Vouchers from Travel Guru. I had got the flight bookings done from Travel Guru.
So we started our trip on 22nd December’07, we took the flight from Bangalore to Cochin we hired a cab from Cochin and reached Golden Waters, Kumarakom and we got to know that there was construction work at the report was going on which was not informed by the Travel Guru. The services of that resort were more than horrible and on top of that The Manager was a highly unprofessional.
Finally we checked out on 24th December’07 and headed towards our next destination Carmelia Haven The Plantation Resort, Thekkady thinking that atleast we can expect to get better services at that resort and we had never experienced to stay in the Tree House so we were excited about the fact that we would experience that now. When we reached at that resort we got ANOTHER SHOCK that we didn’t have the bookings there.
The Manager of that resort told me that they had informed Travel Guru “Mr. Jayesh Khaire - Vacation Executive” that the Deluxe Tree House is not available and he showed us the mails which he had sent to Travel Guru. But we were carrying our CONFIRMED Voucher. Anyone can easily understand what mental stress we went thru. The Manager was kind enough to give us a smaller category room as only that room was available. So we paid the price of Deluxe Tree House and stayed at lower category room THANKS to TRAVELGURU.
When we returned we called up Travel Guru to refund our money of the trip as we paid so much to Travel Guru and went thru so much of pain. Instead of apologizing to us that “Mr. Jayesh Khaire - Vacation Executive” said it was never his fault and do whatever you want to do.
Travel Guru is highly unprofessional company and they appoint people with no experience. Their executives will talk to you until you pay for your trip but once your payments are done they are not bothered if you had any problems due to that company and on top of that they will not even return your money.
We spent more than 50K on that unfruitful vacation just THANKS to Travel Guru.
I would strongly recommend that you don’t trust Travel Guru. Either don’t make any reservations through them or make sure that you check with the reservations from the Hotels / Resorts straight after you get the confirmation voucher as you never know what you are heading for instead of vacations. You might land into the same situations like us.
